12:09 AM
hey there @linksassin, how're things going?

@Shalvenay hey, could be better.

@linksassin yeah :/ things are pretty dog slow over here

Ben
@linksassin Everything alright?

My wife has a meeting with her jerk of a boss. He says she isn't performing well enough but it's only because she refuses to work the 20 hours unpaid overtime a week he wants.
She might get fired from a job she loves other than the boss being a jerk.

Ben
@linksassin Has she spoken to HR?
There's gotta be some kinda Fair Work thing she can go to

12:12 AM
@Ben Small business. There is no such thing. Only 15 people work there and the boss is the owner.

Ben
@linksassin :(

Her co-workers aren't super smart and are happy to work the overtime so it makes her look like she cant do her job in comparison

Ben
Could call the Ombudsman. Might be some advice they can offer

@Ben She doesn't want to. I've tried telling her but she doesn't want the hassle. Besides would you want to keep working at a place that tried to fire you just because fair work says they can't?

Ben
That's fair.

12:16 AM
It's a small industry and she more worried about her reputation, so leaving on reasonable terms is likely better.

Ben
Maybe she can get in contact with the Ombudsman on behalf of the others at least. Put together a bit of an information package. The boss needs to be put in their place.

@Ben Again, I agree but she doesn't want the hassle.
Apparently the guy has been fined before for the way he treats staff but it's such a niche industry there is almost no regulation.

Ben
We did the same for the Pizza joint we worked at. The boss was skimming our pay so we decided to all talk to the Ombudsman, and give the boss a bit of an ultimatum. We all ended up quitting regardless, they effectively went broke with all the backpay and severance because they spent all of the money they'd been skimming on personal expenses.

@linksassin sounds similar to what's been happening with Uber

Ben
Either way, I'm sorry to hear about her situation. I hope it all goes over smoothly.

12:21 AM
@Ben yuck :/

12:51 AM
Ladles and jellyspoons, I need to warn you about the worst safety tool I've ever encountered: the "Support Flower" (PDF link), AKA the Safety Flower or Consent Flower.

What makes it the worst?

> On the back of this sheet is a flower with red at the center, yellow circling that and green at the border. In order to use this pattern to communicate in play, participants reach over and tap a color while making eye-contact to signal to other players what they would like them to do.

> Flicker between two colors to ask another player if we are good where we are, or if they want more (yellowgreen)
or less (yellow-red). Make eye-contact until they clarify by tapping the color that tells you what they
need.
oof

Yes, the PDF is legible. Why is this the worst?

12:56 AM
I haven't the experience to say it is the worst. The whole eye-staring thing though just doesn't seem viable. It adds a very awkward and unnatural dynamic to what should be something that helps keeps things flowing.

@BESW wow wtf

Each leaf has a differently graded subtlety of intent. Which you're supposed to tap on in potentially complicated ways, while not looking at it because you're maintaining eye contact with someone. Which is itself a problem because (a) people who are making problems are less likely to look for eye contact because they're engrossed in whatever they're doing and (b) autism but also (c) visual impairment.

Q: Pathfinder warbow concept review

JohnPThis is a review request for a warbow, intended for the Pathfinder system. The purpose behind the creation of this particular item was to allow the player to quest for a magic item that was not essentially useless at higher levels, but rather gained abilities as the PC gained levels and powers. I...

It is also (as BESW said) way too complicated.

user15026
Aaaaa that flower is so much nope

12:57 AM
@BESW yeah exactly

user15026
Enforced eye contact? Wtf no

Hey do you like eye contact? No? Too bad loser

@Rubiksmoose I've seen safety tools that are only useful in very niche situations, but at least they worked for those situations!

Ben
@BESW Is... Is this legit?

I don't think he would link it if he made it up

12:59 AM
I dunno, maybe the awkward uncomfortable staring and color-coded rhythm game can lead to more dimensional and challenging play

@Ben Yes. It's from "Games to Gather, a Portland based 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to building community relationships and creating positive action through game play and game design," and I was made aware of it because it's recommended (alongside better alternatives, thankfully) as a safety tool by the DIE RPG Open Beta.
@MikeQ New party game: staring contests while playing competitive Simon.

user15026
@BESW omg don't even joke, you know someone is gonna make that now

I think I just did.

I think part of what makes it the worse is that it presents reasonably well and well meaning people that don't know better may use it. There are definitely worse safety tools out there but you can usually spot them fairly easily.

@BESW No it already exists
In a video game
As a miniboss
But it exists

1:04 AM
I'm sure that with enough searching, we can find a safety system worse than this. And if not, we can devise our own.

@linksassin Other tools can cause more harm by their misuse, but I can't think of another safety tool that's so comprehensively bad I can't think of a single edge case where I'd find its use palatable.

@linksassin I definitely didn't think of many of the more serious aspects that BESW pointed out. Had I been in a less critical frame of mind I might have not noticed (as much). On the other hand, it is simply too complicated.

@BESW that's just so... bizarre

I would have noticed that

like, it's obvious even on a surface level how bad it is

1:05 AM
unrelated to current discussion: Do my edits to this question make it less idea generation? I think it's a valuable question.

Ben
@MikeQ D&D? Any system used improperly is terrible. My GM mentioned last night that when my Fighter takes a level in sorcerer, they will immediately start dropping arcana checks.

@Ben I mean... we're talking about safety tools here.

@linksassin I think it helps, but I feel like we'd still need more details from OP on what exactly they're looking for

D&D as a safety tool? Like on top of the intended game system?

Ben
Fair

1:06 AM
@linksassin Yeah I think it helps, but I don't think we're there yet. We have no idea what is going on in their game or their goals for the present.
And even if we did, I'm not sure we could answer honestly.
(though it makes me incredibly sad to say so)

@Rubiksmoose I think I could answer. I have actually done that for my (then gf) wife's birthday.

The question is just so pure and earnest and good-hearted. It makes me sad to not be able to help.

@linksassin But after you answer, how many bad answers are we going to have to moderate and keep an eye on?

@BESW XD

1:09 AM
@BESW Ok what if we build on the support flower idea, but instead of flower petals, we use live scorpions. And the R/Y/G colors are only visible on their undersides.

@Rubiksmoose That is true. Hence why I added the GS/BS part. I wish we had a better (lower effort) way to enforce that.

for an easier question -- in Faerun, what would be the most logical route from the Sword COast to the Sea of Fallen Stars for a mostly oversea journey? are there documented portals/... that are used by ship traffic to get over the land barrier there, or what would be the easiest point to make the overland connection?

@linksassin Previous experience has shown that oftentimes people don't even fully read the question before answering much less policy addendums to it. Not that it hurts mind you, but it isn't a solution really. (In my limited experience. I don't have hard data to support)

@Rubiksmoose A sad, but very true point.

@MikeQ And it's in ultraviolet paint so you have to turn the lights off and use blacklights.

Ben
1:12 AM
@BESW In a club.

I guess we could protect it at soon as we get one poor answer, but that only saves us from new users.

@BESW Plus, to ensure that players' feelings are genuine, they must scream their objections so that everyone can hear.

Ben
As part of a drinking game

@MikeQ It's terrifying because somebody would actually think that was reasonable.

@BESW Of course it's reasonable, if you can't openly tell everyone about the traumatic events that cause this to be triggered for you then it doesn't really trigger you! (I'm terrified that there are people out there that believe this)

1:15 AM
@linksassin I've seen a conversation where somebody said that if you don't tell your group about your triggers before the game, you're the problem if you interrupt the game later because of a traumatic event.

@BESW Oh dear... It physically hurts my heart to hear that. Even as someone with very few triggers I would get up and walk away if I heard someone say that.

facepalm

user15026
@BESW remind me never to play with this person

user15026
Because omg nope

@BESW ok, just lock that person in a dark small closed room suspended over a huge pit and fill both the room and pit with venomous animals
Problem solved :/ (obviously don't do this thing)

1:17 AM
@BESW wow

Technically, the Be Nice policy still applies to critiques of said person

@trogdor Which game? Which miniboss?

@Miniman lol Aquaria

@linksassin And, well, this chat has been a very nice reprieve from the ongoing screaming in the wider online RPG community about an event at the UK Games Expo and I don't want to bring that here. But it's a debate that's happening now and I don't know why it's a debate.

There's a sort of secret miniboss that stares at you and spouts Simon says colors and sounds

1:25 AM
@trogdor Weird. Is it fun to play?

@BESW I agree that I'd rather not bring that here. As this is my main community I had no idea there was another side to that debate and I'm not sure I care to listen to their arguments.

You have to match it while it stares at you with it's eye until you mess up and it realeases enemies and resets, or until you win and you get an,... Extra cooking slot I think
@Miniman I really liked it, the biggest critique I have us that the ending assumes a sequel will exist that never got made

@linksassin I'm certainly looking at some very visible RPG community members differently now. [sigh]

But otherwise it's one of the best Metroid-vanias I've played

@trogdor What if the sequel is actually Terraria?

1:27 AM
Maybe right under Hollow Knight

And then someone will make Aeraria?

@Miniman lol that wouldn't make much sense
Though actually,.. now that you have said it it makes a little more than none anyway

...Pyraria?

@BESW Good point!

No, I'm wrong, it'd be Ursaria. Obviously.

1:29 AM
It's definitely fun though
You swim around most of the time rather than platforming

Though there are a couple of parts where you leave water that get a little tricky
@BESW lol
I would love a game where you play a singing bear
That's what a bear sequel to Aquaria would be I think
XD

Ben
Ironclaw? :P

@Ben no idea

@trogdor After (finally) giving up on Owlboy, I'm not actually sure how I feel about that.

Ben
1:31 AM
At this point I think I'm just going to add Ironclaw to my RPG Bucket List

@Miniman that's fair
I haven't played Owlboy so I can't exactly compair them

@linksassin Just as a sidenote, but normal users can only protect after a user with <10 rep answers
> Any question at least a day old can be protected and unprotected by users that have the privilege, provided the question has received at least one answer from a user with less than 10 reputation (such users would then be prevented from posting further answers after the question is protected).

@Rubiksmoose Now that's an interesting opportunity for sockpuppeting.

@Rubiksmoose Yeah that's what I meant by "only protects us from new users". Not that I have that privilege yet anyway

@linksassin No I meant that we'd have to wait until one answers to be able to protect.
But yeah minor point.
@BESW ohhhhh. That is interesting. Of course you'd actually have to answer.

1:40 AM
I think it would technically count as a violation of the sockpuppet rules.

@Miniman to be fair, I liked these elements myself, but you might also dislike the mechanic of farming enemies for drops so you can cook healing/buff items, just how large the world is, and how long it can take to progress
I played it the first time close to when it came out and then re-played it just last year
I was surprised how long it took me to 100% the game even though I had played it before
Or at least close to 100%
I might have missed some home decorations

@BESW probably

@linksassin This exactly.

@trogdor Oh yeah, not saying they're the same. Just that I think I don't enjoy exploration as much without the limitations imposed by gravity, if you see what I mean?

@Miniman AER?

1:46 AM
@BESW Chaotic Good Sockpuppeting.

@Miniman ah, well the challenge sort of shifts to other things
In the absence of gravity
If the only problem is that you think it's easy it's not XD

@BESW Huh?

@Miniman it's a game where you fly around sky islands as a bird

@trogdor Oh, right.
@trogdor Nah, not because it's easier or harder.

1:48 AM
@BESW It would at very least be super toeing that line. (FWIW I did not take it as a recommendation lol)

@BESW Now there's one for the bucket list

I think it's because of large open spaces, actually.

@Miniman fair enough, there are parts where you need to be out of water to get somewhere but some are optional, and even all together it's probably like 5% if the game at most

@MikeQ I liked it! It was a pleasant, pretty game with a slightly dark edge in the story, and the exploration element never felt frustrating or tedious.

Exploring an area rather than a bunch of paths, if you see what I mean.

1:49 AM
And personally I think they are the most frustrating parts of the game anyway
@Miniman well,... Sort of I think, but I definitely got a good exploration kick out of it
You can't just go literally wherever you want either

Well, of course.

But most if the restriction is "you don't have the right song yet"

Then it would be open world, not metroidvania, and you probably wouldn't recommend it to me :P

But anyway
@Miniman Lol
Anyway, if it's not up your alley to swim instead of jumping that's entirely fair

I don't know if that's what it is.

1:54 AM
Personally I really liked that element of difference

It's a guess, though.

@linksassin That's Sock on the Right. Sock on the Left is Lawful Good.

Plus the soundtrack is great, the puzzles are cool, the boss fights are pretty fun

Ben
2:26 AM
Why is it that in LoZ, the Water temple is always so damn frustrating?

Line of Zight?

Ben
The level design is amazing, the soundtrack is great, the enemies and boss are good (with the exception of Dark Link who is AMAZING), but the puzzlesare always so damn frustrating? Lol
@BESW Lure of Zealousness?

@Ben Because that dungeon's progression is state-based, the states can't be changed freely, and several parts of the dungeon look the same.

The hit new game show, Lion or Zucchini?

@BESW hahaha

Ben
2:30 AM
@MikeQ It's the same for all Water temples though.

user15026
@BESW I'd watch it

@BESW host?

Ben
OoT, MM, TP...
@Rubiksmoose Aslan and Pickle Rick

@Ben wat

Hm... let's see... Great Bay temple had a weird gimmick where you navigate much of the dungeon via 1-way currents, and you can switch the currents

2:31 AM
@Rubiksmoose I have recently come to believe that Sandi Toksvig should consider just hosting everything.

Ben
@Rubiksmoose the Host(s) are Aslan and Pickle Rick lol

@BESW YES. I honestly didn't know she hosted anything other than QI which I love.
@Ben Oh, I got it. My brain just cannot comprehend what such a thing would be like.

TP's water temple wasn't as confusing - the main hall has a mechanism with 4 options, each of which manipulate certain areas of the dungeon

Or especially how your brain went there lol

Ben
@MikeQ Which effectively meant you had to do the whole thing twice.
@MikeQ True... If anything I think it was just repetitive?

2:33 AM
Temple of the Ocean King was an abomination that I don't want to remember

hrm, does nobody wish to take a shot at the easiest route from the Sword Coast to the Sea of Fallen Stars for a ship-based journey? (i.e. if there are portals documented somewhere, or what the easiest route for an overland transfer would be if there aren't any portals)

@Rubiksmoose It was okay with Fry, but Davies was really carrying the show until Toksvig took over.

Tower of the Gods' entry area had a rising and falling tide, but usually that just meant waiting for the tide to change

Ben
@MikeQ I have not played PH, but I'll add it to my list.

@Shalvenay Why not ask on the mainsite?

2:35 AM
@Ben I'm a big fan of the Player's Handbook, it's a great game.

Ben
@BESW Have you played the others in the series? MM and DMG?

@BESW Really? I really liked Fry most of the time. Alan certainly carried a lot of the humorous weight and Fry definitely came across as a bit pretentious at times (ok maybe more than a bit), but I enjoyed him quite a bit.
He also was the best (English-language) Harry Potter audiobook narrator overall IMO (fight me)

@MikeQ figured I'd ask here first and see if anyone knew offhand

@MikeQ This, though. They used the water level thing in Jabu-Jabu's Belly in Ages, and it sucked there too.

@Miniman Ah, I forgot about that the dungeons in Ages

2:37 AM
@Rubiksmoose I think Fry's greatest asset as an actor is his greatest flaw as a host: he really is like that and it's so much more awkward when we can't pretend he's just playing a part.

Ben
@Rubiksmoose He also did well for the Hitchhikers Guide, and Fable

10
Q: What is the maximum number of net attacks that one can make in a round?

goodguy5I'm trying to net (ha) as many thrown attacks using the ever-so-special net. There's a big hurdle, however. [snip]... When you use an action, bonus action, or reaction to attack with a net, you can make only one attack regardless of the number of attacks you can normally make. How many net ...

I guess technically the spinners qualify as state-based progression too, but they suck a lot less.

@Shalvenay ship-based, it doesn't look like there any obvious routes on this old map: forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Faer%C3%BBn?file=Map_-Faerun-_3E.jpg

Ben
@MikeQ OoA?

2:39 AM
@Ben DMG was pretty good, but the ludonarrative was a bit dicey. MM had a lot of fun setpieces but the plot just wasn't there.

@Ben Yeah.

@V2Blast yeah, there's nothing purely water-based that's mapped, which is why I wondered about portals, or if there was a "conventional" overland transfer route

Ben
@Miniman Ohh right. I remember now. Gapped a bit.
@BESW Yeah, of the three I tend to sway toward PH more often.

user15026
@BESW I can't remember who this is and it is making my brain itch

@Ben oh man, I forgot he did Fable...
@BESW Wow. This is so true and I never realised it until just now.

2:44 AM

user15026
@BESW RIGHT YES OKAY YES

@Rubiksmoose Apparently one of my greatest skills is telling people things they already know. It's a dubious talent.

user15026
agreed.

user15026
(I know her from Bake Off which is the purest best show.)

@Ash I still need to watch that.

2:46 AM
@BESW It's quite the superpower!

user15026
(Although I did like Mel and Sue hosting but I mostly just have the BIGGEST crush on Sue. Like HUGE.)

@Rubiksmoose I don't think I knew until just now!

Ben
Same as LBP and the Harry Potter Video Game Series

...ah, he was in the Fable games I didn't play (i.e. all but the first)

user15026
@Rubiksmoose Fry is one of those humans I feel I should like but so much of his humor makes me feel itchy uncomfortable

user15026
2:48 AM
@BESW you dooooo because its like just kind sweet cake happy times

user15026
(like even when things go bad it's lovely sweet)

@Ash Yeah I'm kind of in the same boat. When he is being earnest and personal I feel a lot more connected to him then when he is trying to be funny and intellectual.

Ben
@V2Blast He was in 1 nd 2?

@Ben I only played the first is what I meant
he's in 2 and 3 apparently

Ben
Wait, sorry yeah
I realised I had apparently repressed Fable 2. Lol. I was thinking 3 was 2, so there were only 2 games in the series (before Kinect)
But now, thinking back on it, I wanna watch a playthrough off all the buggy things that would happen in 2. Lol. I played that game to completion, and 45% of it, the game did not load the main character's, or the dog's animations. We just skated everywhere.

2:57 AM
@Ash is that "Great British Bake Off" or something else?

user15026
@trogdor GBBO, yeah,. that show makes me the happiest

I always assumed that it was going to be like Gordon Ramsey or something
I guess I shouldn't have assumed that

user15026
@trogdor Nah, this is better than that, it's just nice and sweet and good and funny and THERE IS SO MUCH CAKE. (and bread. and other things.)

@Ash Netflix has a "Great British Baking Show," that's not the same is it?

user15026
3:00 AM
@BESW It is, for some reason American Netflix names it that

user15026
that will be some scattering of the seasons of it :D

@Ash Oooh I've been skipping it assuming it's a cheap knock-off!

user15026
(If it has the most recent one, Kim-Joy is my FAVORITE)

Why Netflix, just why?

user15026
@BESW IT IS NOT

user15026
3:01 AM
so you should watch it because yay cake

@Ash I have a new thing to watch! Yey! [goes to add to list] [sees how long list is] oooh.

user15026
@BESW giggles

@Ash I need cake now
So much cake

user15026
Yesssss

All the cake

3:02 AM
@Ash I still haven't watched the new season of Cobra Kai past episode one!

user15026
I don't remember what that is!

@Ash It's a YouTube Red show that's a sequel to the original Karate Kid movie, and they got the original actors back for the main character and his tournament rival.

@Ash it's the show about the kids from karate kid except now they are immature middle aged men who still haven't let go of thier rivalry
And they have to face not having moved past,... That stuff

So they're all grown up but they haven't moved past that tournament emotionally and it's gloriously blunt about how that's messed them both up, and they're trying to play out their rivalry through youthful proxy proteges but the proteges are their own people with their own motives and traumas.

It's ridiculous and great though
Because yeah it isn't just them anymore

user15026
3:06 AM
Iiiiiinteresting

But they can't just fight each other again because even they know that won't solve the problem

@Ash I think you'd have to watch it very slowly, because the feels are real.

user15026
Good to know!

user15026
Right now I am bad at anything with feels in.

That's fair

user15026
3:07 AM
(so there being more Brooklyn Nine Nine to watch has been good)

It's occasionally kinda funny, though mostly in a "wow I didn't get just how much these guys were messed up" kind of way, but there's also some really brutal feels.

Yeah it's hilarious but in a really serious way
It's not light-hearted at all

Basically both the main characters are stuck as these typical 80s kid-action movie stereotypes, with the protagonist locked into a determinedly optimistic "everything is awesome" mode and the antagonist stuck in blame-everyone-else-for-my-failures emotional constipation where he associates physical power with emotional maturity.

user15026
It sounds good but also like it would break me

3:13 AM
oooh, sounds intriguing

And it's a really well-done show, too. The actors are good, even the teenage ones, and the scripts and camera work are solid and nuanced.
You don't need to be familiar with the original film either, they'll do the necessary exposition and the fundamental emotional throughline is familiar to anyone who knows that genre of 80s film.

@BESW apparently there was a third movie (with the same cast) and a fourth movie (starring Hilary Swank) that I recall hearing about but don't remember watching. I do remember the first two movies. Apparently there was a 1989 animated TV series too? And of course the Jaden Smith/Jackie Chan movie.

That sounds right? I saw the first one a long time ago and am vaguely aware there's other stuff.

3:29 AM
[emerges from Fable video hole]
Also realizes that Fable 4 is almost a thing?

Ben
Wow... that took forever. I was trying to think of a game I played years ago that was like, but not Fire Emblem. It took me just as long to realise it was Breath of Fire

Sorry it was a 30 minute long recap of the Fable franchise

user15026
For some reason this conversation makes me wanna watch Fly Away Home again. I love that movie

Ben
You know that feeling you get when you load up a longplay no commentary playthrough of one of your childhood games, and you hear those 8-bit sounds again for the first time...

3:46 AM
@Ben definitely not nope no sir
XD

4:03 AM
@Rubiksmoose Loving your new comments about "if you are confused about anything.. etc.." I haven't seen them before. They seem like a good addition for new users.

@linksassin Thanks! It's something I've been trying out recently. Sadly I haven't had anyone take me up on the offer of comment assistance yet, but I think I'm happy with the way it feels to me.
I'm hoping it gives a bit more of a human touch to the intimidating introduction to the site if that makes any sense.

@Rubiksmoose My only suggestion would be to add a link to the chat directly in the comment.

@linksassin Good thought! I think the reason I haven't is that to the people who I've started leaving the comment to, they aren't even close to getting that reputation yet.
And I'm trying not to overwhelm and sticking with suggesting things they can do right now to help them understand things
I'd certainly love to increase our regular chat population though.

@Rubiksmoose I assumed that was it. Do you use a stack app extension for your comments?

@linksassin I technically have a script that does it, but I never use it. I almost always just end up typing it out.

4:08 AM
@Rubiksmoose Haha glad I'm not the only one

When I'm at my home computer I do have a couple comments saved in a notebook that I particularly like the phrasing of. If I'm around there sometimes I copy those (if the situation is appropriate of course)
@linksassin I'm glad I'm not the only one!
It would probably save me time? But I'm not even sure because each question is a little bit different. I should look again at setting it up though.

@Rubiksmoose Exactly, sometimes I think it would save me time. Others I think it might make be lazier and less personal which kinda defeats the purpose of the comments.

@linksassin Agreed. Stock comments sometimes seem to have an impersonal feel to them. Even small changes to the comments makes it feel more personable to me (even though the person reading them likely has no way of knowing that)
@linksassin also, if you like it please feel free to steal it. And, if you do, let me know of any successes you have!

@Rubiksmoose Oh I plan on it! Thanks for the idea.

This is what I use:
> If you want to discuss RPG things in a less structured format, the [chat] is always open.

You know the one thing about the chat auto link that gets me. I hate that it like to the list of chats instead of directly to this one.
I still remember when I first was pointed here being confused as heck about what to do with all those chat links.
If I hadn't been on a mission to get my question reopened I might have just given up right there and then.

That's fair!

When talking to a new user, I always try to dig up what it felt like to be a new user.
And that's one of the things that sticks out in my memory
hmmm is there an easy way to find my first chat message I wonder?

I went and found the chat on my own, so I don't have that.

@Rubiksmoose That is true. It would be nice is there was a [chat/main] link or something.

@Rubiksmoose Maybe this one?

Can people take a look at this question and vote for reopen if they think it deserves it? https://rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/111586/death-by-level-up-a-real-concern/‌111590

@BESW looks like it!
Good times.
I think that might still be my most upvoted question...
@BESW what did you use to search that BTW?

@Rubiksmoose I searched your name and looked at the earliest entries, then went up the chat page to find your line they were responding to.

@BESW ah gotcha. Same thing I did except I didn't scroll up.
doh!
Some different faces in the chat back then. SSD made an appearance as well.
@BESW here's the one I found for you:

@TheBW I use inCombat; it not only tracks initiative, hp, and defenses; it also can track conditons, lets you set notes and reminders, and you can upload monster and PC stats exported from the DDI. No map support though. http://laughterforever.com/inCombat/

we barely had enough chat to keep one room going before :)
Boy how times have changed

@Rubiksmoose Yeah, nobody uses flash anymore

@linksassin hahaha (and good riddance!)

inCombat was great.

@Rubiksmoose Hmm... Not sure we want to drag up my first chat messages. I think it was an argument with Glazius. I was new.

@linksassin I see nothing. ;)
(sorry about that, I didn't read the context)

@Rubiksmoose All good. I stand by what I said but wouldn't say it that way now.

@linksassin hey we all started somewhere. And we've all grown since joining the site. I'm certainly not judging.

I think it was about giving a system-agonostic answer to a specific system question. Turns out the question was using a completely homebrew system anyway so my answer was fine.

On a more positive note, the first mention of both of our usernames was NautArch complimenting our answers.
(before either of us had joined chat)
Which was extremely nice of them.

@Rubiksmoose Really? I noticed he did that for you but had no idea he did it for me. That's very nice.

@KorvinStarmast I'll move my opening agreement with Linksassin to end with that. I like their answer :)
