The things you have been observing are all fine within this context. If an answer is not appropriate in achieving our goals, then, yes, it is fine to anonymously downvote it. Editing posts is also fine as just explained. Your last point about moderators upvoting each other... I can't really confirm that. I have a lot of answers with no upvotes. It would actually be nice if my colleagues would go around handing me some upvotes!!!
@OliverSalzburg do you have any doubt moderators massively upvote each other??????? you know how many times I have seen idiotic answers massively upvoted????
@Pat there are only a few moderators on the site; even if all of them always voted for eachother, that wouldn't be nearly enough upvotes for it to be "massively" upvoted
so it must be that regular old users are upvoting eachother... oh noes
@Pat yeah, this has gone full retard now. No way in hell would the StackExchange team allow any users to cross-vote. Mods that did it would be removed from their position.
yeah, this is no longer enjoyable for me... sick of the bad apples in Root Access... I'll come back later, hopefully after this silly guy has departed... ciao o/
@Pat Dude, drop it. Nobody here is taking you actually seriously and it's not clear what you're even trying to achieve. Just keep writing your blog and maybe post it on Facebook or something. Just stay as far away from Stack Exchange as possible. It doesn't seem to be good for your mental health. You seem a bit too angry about all of this. Cheers
Seeing a chat flag and all this bad apple-ness in Root Access is very uncharacteristic of our community, so, on behalf of all of us, I apologize for the disturbance, helpful-mods-to-the-rescue. :-)
@KitFox Hehehe. I mocked up a pic of a Mortal Kombat "FIGHT!" between the gravatars of myself, two other cats, and two dogs and @Bob's Fox. Bob was outraged to be on the "dog team". :D
At the time I didn't even realize that foxes were so distant from dogs o_O
@RegDwighт No, I just first need to find out what I'm seeing when looking into the mirror. It's complicated. I didn't understand it either. Someone who came by this here chat room earlier suggested that I should do it. I dunno. Weird stuff
@Pat If you point to them as abusers then you probably should mention why you think it is abuse and why you think you are unfairly banned; but no, you resort to straight "I insult you, don't insult me" instead. I don't know where you come from and the conversation you brought here, but the way you stumble into this room isn't really the right approach to deal with it; I could call it abuse of this chat medium.
I was really impressed at the swift response of all the mods who came to the rescue when we had a flag though :D They must have been thinking, "WUT? Root Access? A flag?! This has to be the real thing! Prep the fire engine! Prep the ambulance! LET'S GO!"
@studiohack: guy called pat got in trouble with SE for promoting his product too much. He apparently came in here (and we arn't the ones who banned him till 2014) and spouted a bunch of garbage
and apparently there were a lot of flags flying around
Curious: How do you fix it it windows gets confused with drive letters? I know how to do it in inucer. Just edit /etc/fstab or mount on disk ids. But how do I do that with windows?
@Hennes ya I figured that out. But I actually intended to ask whether I can move it AND make the new cloned partition bootable. (note: The cloned partition is on the same hard disk)
I have it like this |||system reserved 100MB|||unpartitioned space 80GB|||D Drive (some random stuff) 73GB|||C Drive (the actual windows installation partition)75GB|||E drive (all my personal stuff)280GB (and mostly filled)|||some more unpartitioned space
The Z machine is the largest X-ray generator in the world and is designed to test materials in conditions of extreme temperature and pressure. Since its refurbishment in October 1996 it has been used primarily as an inertial confinement fusion (ICF) research facility.
Operated by Sandia National Laboratories, it gathers data to aid in computer modeling of nuclear weapons and eventual nuclear fusion pulsed power plants. The Z machine is located at Sandia's main site in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Origins
The Z machine origins can be traced from the Department of Energy need to replicate in a...
I have moved a system disk once before. Previously the drive letter the OS was installed in was named G: in windows. The C: drive was an empty 1MB partition.
It was fun watching programs burn and crash when they had hardcoded path rather then %system%
Most fun was win95 without a harddisk but with a C: partition/
Not sure how windows thought it worked.
Installed on a Quantum prodrive 52S (a 52MB SCSI drive) on a adaptec 1542FC hostadaptor. When I upgraded that ISA card to a NCR810 hostadaptor (PCI) it sort of worked. I had a working C: drive and windows booted. But no harddisks anywhere in device management
Took a while :P I also tried to work on the CPU cooler/fan situation. The maker told me it was asymmetrically built and that could be the reason why it collides with my RAM
But I already had it installed the way that leaves the most space for the fan :\
@OliverSalzburg What is it? The same as me? It's fantastic. I have two. It's just small. I want a larger panel. :P It feels small next to my work-issued Acer 24" TN crappy display. :P
(My brother is using the other one. Donated it as a free monitor when he got his desktop.)
@BenRichards Yeah I know it is possible to connect TVs to computers today but I was asking specifically about screens that are designed to be used with computers.
By the way, who of you people uses more than 1 monitor and how convenient do you find it?
@Boris_yo Extend your desktop to your external display. Though some laptop docks these days have multiple external display connectors. A couple people here got new Thinkpads with those.
@Boris_yo Well, you'll have to get something from Matrox, then. :)
I Have A One Windows 8 Licence Key And I Want To Activate Mutiple Windows 8 On PCs Through This One Key, By Doing This It Violates MS Licensing Rule, Is It Also Blocks My Key??
