@JitendraVyas The best thing to do in order to make sure the battery doesn't die quickly is to not overcharge it. That means only plug it in when the battery is low, and when it's full, unplug t.
@JitendraVyas Just do the right thing from now on and it will slow its death. Replacement batteries can be had from online, though, if you ever want to get a new one. I actually just ordered one for my laptop. :P
No, only if you want to be able to use it while on battery power. You could even remove the battery and keep the laptop plugged in all the time if you never really need it (and this would actually be a good idea if you want to make sure the battery remains healthy for when you do want to use it).
My many friend are moving to macbook but i still feel comfortable in windows. and i noticed Macbook's price are highher and specs are lower then same cost of windows laptop
Well, it's a price premium for what you get. But I see a lot of my developer friends move to Mac because it's essentially a native UNIX environment, which fits in pretty well with programming.
And i also read on adobe website that if i can have a separate HDD for as a scratch disk for photoshop i will get better performance but as in laptop we can only use one HDD/SSD how to do that?
@JaredTritsch Yeah, I won't be, so I didn't bother with a beefier CPU. I also didn't want to sacrifice battery life too much with an unnecessarily powerful CPU.
I can just see it now.... @JourneymanGeek looks up the results of the contest and even though he got first in all tiers, he only gets a t-shirt.... flips table
And once it's done it prints Internet is UP! (UP in green) instead and does another ping (4 this time) just to show the latency and to see if it's really stable.
@sidran32 As you said that it's a good idea to keep laptop batter out from laptop to save its life. It's a good idea but I don't have power backup so if power goes down suddenly (which generally happens in india) i will loose the unsaved data
Sometimes laptops have modes that will "trickle charge" the battery to extend the battery life. Basically, once it's fully charged, it stops charging automatically and runs the battery down a few percent, then charges it back up. The Lenovo power utility for my Thinkpad has this option, which I use. Maybe Dell has something similar?
Q What does Dell recommend for battery storage for a long period of time? A When storing for more than 4 days these guidelines can better preserve the life of your battery:
Do not store batteries for long periods plugged into or attached to any power source. This includes AC adapters and laptop security carts plugged into an outlet. Laptop batteries, including those stored in laptop systems, should maintain an Operational Storage Temperature of 0° to 35°C (32° to 95°F). Batteries may be stored in the laptop or outside of the laptop.
For a power user, reduction in run time generally may be experienced prior to 18 months. We recommend buying a new Dell laptop battery when the run time does not meet your needs.
Want to change the background of a Metro app tile? You can! http://superuser.com/questions/493692/how-do-i-change-the-tile-image-of-a-modern-ui-application For #microsoft #msft #windows #windows8 #metro #tiles #tips
So this is the story: Tonight, the storm will be hitting full force at around 8pm. I tried to call into work but everyone else who works my shift (who has seniority) called in, which leaves me as the only one who will be required to be in the building while the storm is actually hitting us.
This said, by the time I get out of work, midnight, the storm should still be going strong. This means I won't be able to go anywhere for a number of hours, I will be stuck at the post office all freaking night. Whooo....
@Joshua I think the Mayans figured "Okay, 2012, that ought to be enough for a calendar..." Just because we're a little more short sighted and almost caused our own little apocalypse (ala y2k) doesn't mean it's the end of the world. :P
It depends on various factors such as processor speed, hard drive write speed, the orientation of the moons of Jupiter etc.
But you can reasonably expect about 40-60 minutes on a mid-grade machine. Faster on SSD systems, slower on your Pentium 4.
While I realize this question has been asked for other versions of Windows, it looks like like the existing activation key detection tools do not work with Win8 - most seem to return strings, but they do not match the keys used.
Does anyone know of a tool for Windows 8 that works and gets the ac...
Nice booty answers, but host files can block https via routing enabled windows protocol, used in windows xp and 7, it can be a bit tricky and hard for some people, cos it requires to alter the windows registry in such way that http and https protocols are created as lone instances, derivated by w...
