I once had a tiny Zareason netbook. 2 GB of memory with a Linux install. Super portable. But then, it started shutting off if you tilted the monitor in a certain way, so it's basically unusable now

@Michael that's when a laptop transitions to desktop :P

more like a "don't touch me or I might spontaneously turn off"-top :)

Have a big HP G71 17-inch laptop, purchased right after Windows 7 was just released. Spilled hot tea all over it and the screen stopped working, and after that it became a perpetual desktop. Last year, finally got around to replacing the screen and after all these years it's finally able to display the Windows 7 boot animation once again...
(Yes, the tea spilled on the keyboard, but it was undamaged. There's a metal shield between that and the main board, and when I opened it up I noticed no sign of any damage to it.)
I like 2-in-1 laptops because with a regular laptop if you step on the screen the hinge breaks, but with a 2-in-1 the screen harmlessly folds away

@Michael USB keyboard and 2nd screen can fix any vibration related issues :)
@gparyani probably depends on hinge design... This Dell L7400 can fold flat
