I'm taking a course and it says "When Windows boots up ...
the first non-kernel user mode that starts is the Session Manager Subsystem". I don't understand the non-kernel user mode bit because isn't Session Manager part of the OS, so why would they say it's non kernel?
Also since it's part of the OS wouldn't it be run in kernel mode?

I replaced the backup via a NAS\
And I am thinking about upgrading my main desktop (6 years old) with an AMD 5900/new GPU/3733 Cas 18 Memory/silent case and 2-3 PCI-4 SSDs
Which will be a lot of money, but stilll ...
