This may need a full-fledged question on graphic design stackexchange, or a forum for Gimp or something, but I am adding low res text to an image in Gimp on Windows and the antialiasing just uses greys (by default?). I would like red and blue (subpixel rendering?) so the text looks like
alienryderflex.com/sub_pixel/sub_pixel_antialiasing_4b.gif . Googling around
suggests the Linux version does this (badly?) by default, but maybe it's not an option on Windows/Mac?
