...looks like the right earbud will not charge. I'm going to have to exchange it tomorrow :(
00:38
@Burgi Jazz Jackrabbit!
@Burgi That's just funky

Ugh. I received no answers, and only 15 views on this: superuser.com/questions/1487243/…

Is there anyway to check and repair Ext4 partition from Windows with a tool like fsck ?
05:58
@rahuldottech That outta garner some interest... ;)
06:09
rofl
@MichaelFrank I was about to offer some rep off of aibobot ;p
06:28
@MichaelFrank WHOA THANKS
200!?
06:42
@rahuldottech all good. You might be able to create a batch script with this though helpdeskgeek.com/networking/…
The solution would be netsh interface ip set dns * static 192.168.1.1
But... Netsh doesn't support the * wildcard

1 hour later…
07:57
@rahuldottech powershell to loop through interfaces...
08:26
@djsmiley2k I'm probably going to end up using good ol' batch, but yeah

2 hours later…
09:57
The problem is that I'm still gonna have to run it each time I tether.

Isn't the interface "name" always the same though? It's just detected as a new connection
12:07
@MichaelFrank I'd thought so too, but apparently it's not
So I got an answer thanks to @MichaelFrank's bounty, which is great :D
The downside is that it's from harrymc, but I suppose they deserve it...
I was thinking a bounty is basically an "attract harry" button
Hey ho
lol
Well, harry helped me in this case, so it's all good :)

Uh, your API limit's a teensy bit restrictive there Google
@bertieb Is that from the search api?
@rahuldottech Youtube Data API, broadly the same idea tho yea
It's supposed to be, and was, 10 000 per day
12:13
Ah. You have other search APIs tho. Just one for YT however, obviously :/
I'm not using it for search, it's for setting video metadata
Because setting stuff manually is a pain when doing multiple videos
Ahh

Q: "Dear Stack Exchange, I am very disappointed in you" - How to construct a strong opening line in a letter?

NofPIn light of recent events I intended to write a simple letter of complaint to StackExchange. The obvious thing to do would be to write an opening with the fact such as It came to my knowledge that a long-standing member and moderator of the Writing.SE community, among others, has been dismiss...

DAMN
13:09
@Burgi Well, SD cards are removable. So you can get at the data after the phone breaks (backups, what is that?) and it is easy to quickly upload tons of new data

I don't store data on my phone, that'd be dumb

Got the Galaxy Buds exchanged.
The sound quality is a step down from the PXC 550. Highs, in particular aren't as smooth, and the soundstage is narrower. But what am I to complain when these earbuds only cost $130 complete with charging case...
Because overall audio rendition is still quite accurate.
The equalizer in the Galaxy Wearable app does help here.
'only $130' 0_o
16:31
I looked at a number of options and the price is towards the lower end of the range for true wireless earbuds.
FWIW, this was something I gave a good amount of thought to. I initially wanted the Sony WF-1000XM3 but could not justify spending $230 when the reviews point to all sorts of mike problems.
The Sennheiser PXC 550 ran me $300 FWIW...
I know everyone here talks about headphones...
16:52
'everyone' being two users, maybe 3 if you include @bertieb but his discussion is how he can't afford them :D
@bwDraco Can you please stop boasting about how much disposable income you have to spend on yourself? Many of us cannot afford such luxuries ...
I think I spent maybe a tenner on my bluetooth pair
I also think that was an Xmas present
So I didn't actually spend that
(well technically I did, but my sister paid me for them)
shrug
@DavidPostill Can you remove the entire block of messages from here to here?
(possibly excluding the intermediate message from bertieb)
It's your call, but I don't think it's worth removing
not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things tbh
Was this disruptive?
17:04
Nah
no, just inconciderate
Just helps to think of things from other folks' PoV
I mean talk about these thing, sure
Well... I really need attention.
Or I'll go nuts.
Why do you think that?
Plus, there's other ways of doing so if that's what you desire
Engage folks in something of mutual interest
Or perhaps... I'll just try to starve myself of attention in the hopes that it'll stop this behavior.
17:07
Better to deal with what drives it in the first place
IMO
I'm open to feedback at the personal growth room. I'm leaving for the time being.
17:48
Going nuts is fun. You realise the world doesn't revolve around you.
Not even sarcastic here. Spent a few months of my teens thinking I was the coming of Christ.
