I used the same analogy with Active Directory vs NT4-style domains....
"We need to treat AD as though it is our 18-year old daughter who has all the Fortune 500's wrapped around its finger, while her older brother, Mr NT, is out behind the store blowing guys for cash with how outdated he is"
I think I'm just going to get the Galaxy S10+ or (if sufficient funds are available) the Galaxy Fold. But I'm not too sure if I want to drop more than twice the value of Stolas onto a phone...
I realize you're young, and you can afford to take risks and make mistakes... But be sensible and listen to people like me who have gone through that phase of having all new and shiny, no matter the cost... It isn't good
My phone is fine, other than the camera... So I bought an upgraded version, while I send my main away to get repaired under warranty... even though I need to pay $60...
If you're trying to save up for something, like a home or car, yea
AMD's going to be first to market with full-power desktop "7 nm class" processors.
Come to think of it, replacing my phone within the next few months would actually disrupt a planned 7nm processor upgrade for Astaroth due to funding constraints.
Story time! First time I'm ever making an app: I'm twelve years old, with very little actual programming knowledge. What do I do? I create a basic UI in MS word '13 using shapes and arrows, take a screenshot, crop in MS paint, embed in an HTML doc with a <center> tag, create an image map (remember those?), And then use a service which wrapped a given HTML page into an apk with webview. I really wish I was making this up.
I'm shuddering at the thought of it, but looking back I'm surprised at just how legit it looked.
Most people liked it and at its peak it was used by over a hundred kids from my school.
So... Yeah. Welp. I'll dig up the HTML code if you guys want.
Oh, and I used Google Drive to serve the HTML page.
(here's a secret: a few months ago I was participating in a hackathon and we were considering an idea when we would have had to come up with the mock-up of an app, and I still would have have used an HTML page and then wrapped it in an apk, because five years later I still have no idea how to make a proper Android app.)
@MichaelFrank this is why the first thing I state on my portfolio is that I'm great at hacking around and finding alternate solutions. I do this allllll theeee timeeee.
Even if I have no idea how to do something, I almost always figure out a way that works, and that @Bob hates.
Which is justified. I mean. Just look at that abomination mentioned above.
Hmmm... MyFitnessPal had a breach early last year and my details were included in the drop. I'm pretty sure I auth'd with Facebook though, do I need to do anything about that?
