@rahuldottech I miss those days. I'm at 8 right now and believe 25 is my peak. There was a time when even a 100 was no problem.
@ThatBrazilianGuy Wait, Nazism is a leftist ideology. That's a true statement. Am I dumb? Did I miss something in history class? I'd be surprised if a worker's party was on the right.
04:58
@Nick what
05:26
Vaccines, man. They're evil, they make the frogs autistic.
@rahuldottech Nazi stood for National Socialist.
Somewhere, I know that both the Socialists and Communists are left wing parties.
Am I wrong to think Stalin was a leftist?
05:47
@Nick yeah so you are clearly out of touch with the modern political landscape
I never had feelings for politics in that way, I suppose.

Where is the best place to ask a question about software installation on a Mac?
@Alex ask different
Oh right! Thanks for that, I did not see that before (i.e. that this is apple related)

Can anyone confirm that Unicode support is done through supported Fonts or would it be a Font itself?
I know there must be a reason that Unicode support in nearly every OS is directly connected to the OS itself
i.e. iOS and Windows adds support for newer Unicode revisions in updates.
16:01
@Ramhound I believe the font face is extended, so extra glyphs are added to a font's 'collection'. Of course the OS too must support addressing them, as it's far outside the asci and extended asci and whatever else is used prior to unicode addressing
Also unicode does combinations of codes, leading to further codes.
So the OS support is due to the addressing?
Trying to provide a reasonable answer, to the question,"can i added Unicode 11 support to 1803, if it was technically added, in 1809"
Add the support to windows? that'd be difficult I'd imagine
@Ramhound if I understand correctly, yeah. While I guess it's technically possible, figuring out which files are responsible for Unicode support and copying them over should be... Complicated
Also, might break other stuff
There has to be reason every OS only provides Unicode which the OS itself is patched
So while you could install the Unicode font from say 1809 to 1803, 1803 wouldn't address the new characters so they wouldn't be usable.
Which is actually exactly what i plan to use in my answer ;-)
@JourneymanGeek they appear to only sell headphone amps here amazon.in/gp/aw/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?k=fiio+amplifier
16:10
@Ramhound to some extent.
@rahuldottech oh
try smsl
@JourneymanGeek - Would the following answer be a reasonable answer?
@JourneymanGeek same, only mini amps
This would require Unicode 11 support, which is provided by the Unicode compatible Font, but also through OS support in order to address the characters added to the Unicode standard. It is important to point out that every operating that supports Unicode, updates it's Unicode support in a similar way, through updates to the OS itself.

I have an additional sentence that explains, while you could copy the Font, you wouldn't be able to use the additional characters without the OS support.
Trying to provide more then a "no" comment
(which was done on my way to work :$)
> Over 80 government websites are down after TLS certificates expired and there's nobody on hand to renew them.
@Ramhound I'd guess
16:19
@rahuldottech - The TLS certificates expiring has nothing to do with the shutdown, just poor timing, those certificates could have easily been renewed before the shutdown.
\> politicians disagree
> Gov't shuts down
> Everything breaks
> Employees working without pay
> National Park destroyed
> Politicians still get paid
Let's not talk about the shutdown
@Ramhound yeah, but they could be renewed right now, if the govt was functional
@rahuldottech - I guarantee there is somebody in the office that could do it they are simply choosing NOT to do it.
Instead of... Y'know sites remaining down.
@Ramhound because they're not getting paid over some politicians' squabbles? I don't blame them.
16:21
Are they down, or is it the fact, the certificate has expired and know browsers are behaving as such?
The more stuff that breaks, greater the pressure to end the shutdown
> Politicians still get paid
that's part of the problem
@Ramhound practically equivalent, because those protections are in place for a reason
None of those politicians need the money
If the sites used HSTS, then the browsers rightly block access.
If they redirect to HTTPS, same thing
16:23
The trustworthiness of those certificate has not changed
@Ramhound that's the point
@Ramhound go explain to browsers. Certs expire for a reason.
Anyways this is a touchy subject since I am one of those employees, but I am also required to show up to work and do my job.
@Ramhound oh. I'm sorry, I didn't know
Uh, take care
@JourneymanGeek found one, but overpriced: amazon.in/SMSL-SA-36A-TPA3118D2-Amplifier-Black/dp/B017W13OR0/…
@rahuldottech He's sadly very in touch with it, actually.
@rahuldottech - Who is in touch with what?
16:34
looks like maybe the Cat5 indoor-rated cable that Verizon installed on the outside of our house to route from the ONT to my room is starting to fail

Hey all
I have a problem with this post being On Hold
It's perfectly clear what OP is asking if you're even remotely aware of the technology behind what they're trying to do.
Without specifying it, OP described trying to use a secondary PC as a network-attached display. In the most recent version of Windows (with the right hardware), this is possible.
Simply go to Action Center, Click Connect, and Connect to Secondary display.
@varfirstName - So answer the question instead of telling us it's "perfectly clear"
But OP is having problems with this working.
@Ramhound can't bud. If a question is on hold then you can't post an answer.

<sic> We are not even sure what question your talking about (I am sure confused)

@djsmiley2k Condolences. However, know this - another new master will shortly arrive to own you ;)
@varfirstName Please stop spamming this room (and interrupting ongoing conversations) to get responses to questions you feel attached to. 1/ If a question is closed there is a defined procedure to get it reopened. 2/ the second question was only asked 1 hour ago.

@DavidPostill I haven't been spamming. Ramhound told me he couldn't see any of my links until I permalinked the post. And I just want to hear if you guys have any input on that specific post (because the issue is so alien to me).
I respect your authority and will not continue to bug you about reopening any questions.
Also while I offer my condolences, I feel like grieving is a more personal matter and since I've lost so many animals and have gone through that experience so many times, I try to avoid the topic whenever possible.

May Tim's former feline companion rest in peace.

Is this just my PC or does anyone else see this....
Is a GUI sort issue but out of order apparently. Just curious if others see this for the Month like I see per that screen shot. Perhaps it's my browser cache causing it from Chrome though.
Nevermind.... It must have been very short lived. Perhaps a sort GUI code waiting for rep calculation to add up behind the scenes of the system or something. I think it was timing related for those sort of reason and I jumped the gun
same here
It was originally jumping fire.

> Couples jumped the fire together to pledge themselves to each other.
...
> Another common element is 'jumping the broomstick' - this goes back to a time when two people who could not afford a church ceremony, or want one, would be accepted in the community as a married couple if they literally jumped over a broom laid on the floor. The broom marked a 'threshold', moving from an old life to a new one.

Interesting. No chiplet-based APUs are planned.
Any new desktop processors with integrated graphics will have a different design.
Hmm... more accurately, not with the Matisse layout. Chiplet APU still possible, but not with this design, and probably not until the second half of 2019.
That space on the package will permit a second CPU core die, though. 16-core processors for mainstream desktop platforms almost seem inevitable at this point.
AMD has a clear claim to the world's first 7nm desktop processor. Let's hope that actually translates to a real and significant advantage.
