What led you to think it was removed?

12:24 AM
@bwDraco Just checking to see that both it itself and the trigger still exist (I tested the egg using a userscript someone put up to intentionally activate Easter eggs).

Ah.

@bwDraco It also activates the "Wheel of Blame", a hidden Easter egg without a trigger anywhere

@gparyani Mechanical keyboards are typically pretty loud.

@bwDraco It wasn't a mechanical keyboard

I know, but putting it out there.
It depends on how it's built...

12:42 AM
@rahuldottech I typically suggest cherry blues as a starter mechanical switch

I like Cherry Blacks.

I'm disappointed no one noticed the 3% battery in that screenshot :P

Is that a projector or a person in bed?

@passy We'd lose our security certificate if we allowed pasting. It could leave us open to a "brute force" attack. Thanks ^Steve

What kind of CA imposes this kind of restriction?
Besides, this does not protect against automated tools that do not honor stuff like this.

Bob
@bwDraco None.
Clueless SMM is clueless.

Something like a "trusted" certificate?

Bob
Like, the entire point of linking to that tweet is because it's so hilariously incorrect.

...did I spoil the joke again?

they didn't read his comment

Bob
@BetfairHelpdesk You seem to be dodging the question now -- all someone needs is a username and DOB, is that right?

lol

Bob
@psawers Yes, but they would need to attain this information through you, which once again, is a breach of our terms.
@NordlysJeger Here's another one:
@troyhunt I'm sorry you feel this way. I can certainly pass on your concerns and feed this back to the tech team for you Troy? DC
"I'm sorry you feel this way."

FWIW, I did take a course in computer hacking basics during my undergrad years, so this isn't foreign to me.

Bob
> It gets better. On the forgot Username page, they will email you a reminder for your username (i.e., email address) in case you've forgotten it. :-)

I'm not sure how people with such a fundamental lack of understanding of the basics of security and hacking would be designing a system like this.

Bob
Welcome to IT.

You're not sure how people that didn't know better did something the way they did?

i'm building a page for our client which lists their online stockists
the stockist they are trying to push the most has this message:

and according to the WBM it has been like that since april

@Burgi Shareholders before customers :(

Bob
12:49 PM
That has nothing to do with shareholders.

It's just the way companies think. Companies hate doing expensive things, even if it's the right thing to do.
For a publicly traded company, the pressure to do that is immense, but that holds for private entities, too.

some companies don't have shareholders

Is this why AMD-powered HP ENVY x360 laptops got prime display area at the local Best Buy?
I find Intel's processor shortages very uncharacteristic of them.
I always thought once a process matured, Intel should have no trouble meeting demand, given the sheer number of units they sell every year...

I honestly need to study pop culture.

I've long been a lone wolf, left to my own devices on my computer. And I don't move around a lot.
This seems to be slowly changing as I start to play a more active role in my family's everyday activities, but it's a long path forward...

@rahuldottech I was gonna argue, then I saw what made you say it. Yeah, gotta agree.

> The Auto-Type feature of KeePass is very powerful: it sends simulated keypresses to other applications. This works with all Windows applications and for the target applications it's not possible to distinguish between real keypresses and the ones simulated by Auto-Type. This at the same time is the main disadvantage of Auto-Type, because keyloggers can eavesdrop the simulated keys. That's where Two-Channel Auto-Type Obfuscation (TCATO) comes into play.

TCATO makes standard keyloggers useless. It uses the Windows clipboard to transfer parts of the auto-typed text into the target applicati

Q: Virtualise a physical Windows 95 PC

BurgiI recently found my old Windows 95 PC in the attic. Is it possible to virtualise it before I dispose of the hardware? What is the best way of achieving this? The machine doesn’t have USB. I might be able to find a network card for it. Would ripping out the drive and putting it in an external USB...

i got the drive working

Bob
> I gave up and destroyed the disk
did you undestroy it?

it turns out there were two drives in the machine
HAL BRAIN 2 is the destroyed one, which probably had interesting documents
HAL BRAIN 1 is alive and kicking
trying to dd image it now

do dial-up modems still work in this day and age?

@Burgi I would imagine so, if there is something at the other end to listen ...
> Freeola, the best dial-up ISP, offers a reliable dial-up internet connection service. With our 0845 dial-up service you only pay the call charges for the time you are online, we do not charge you a penny. Freeola's dial-up service is compatible with dial-up modems (up to 56k) and ISDN (up to 128k).
Plusnet still offer dialup as well plus.net/products/residential/payg/payg_standard.html

Q: =ROUNDUP function for whole numbers

Smekeri BezPrezimenaWhich function you use for the following result: Before: 46,4 x 33 x 2 = 0,31 40 x 33 x 1 = 0,13 32 x 8 x 2 = 0,05 After: 46,4 x 33 x 2 = 0,35 40 x 33 x 1 = 0,14 32 x 8 x 2 = 0,07 My formula for result is: =CONVERT(PRODUCT(A1;C1;E1)/100;"cm";"m") Image example here:

Better interface for Gmail. Web and app.

Much better interface.
I really don't want to go back to using GMail. :|

i'd never heard of it

So it would group emails based on what they were... Offers, Invoices, Updates, Financial, Purchases etc
You could teach it what fit into each of those categories based on content or email address.
It would let you snooze an email to have it appear again later.
You could mark an email as Done so it would disappear from view, or Pin it so it would stay near the top of it's category.
