@Sathya, I was a bit surprised as well. Hopefully not too indicative of what'll happen in the actual election, but it does have me slightly disappointed.
how are you folks?
@KronoS, I think it's pretty great they're just sending you SSDs! And you get to keep them?
@KronoS, same. I've been busy all day... had two tests, and all kinds of meetings this evening
If you decide after doing the testing for the blog that you have no use for all three... I can think of one or two things the extras could be put to use for :P
@Sathya, suppose I could. You think they'd send them to anyone who promises to blog about it? My personal blog doesn't have much readership, and the SU blog is, well, already doing it :P
this class is excruciatingly slow, so i have yet to really do anything interesting
@KronoS, how does the SU blog work per se? Do you have a meta post about it or something? And is there any possibility for getting it to be official like the server fault blog?
Now we're into week 3 of the "Top Question" of Super User in the Super User blog. Please post and vote for your favorite question for this week.
Please post any question that you feel is of worth and the reason why. Try not to promote your own questions or answers for publicity sake. We are lo...
do you think it's appropriate to quote in my nomination text a few of the positive/supportive comments people have made regarding my nomination? part of me feels like it's fair to show why people like me, on the other hand, part of me wonders if it's appropriate though. for what it's worth, i would be more than willing to support candidates whose nominations i said good things about putting that in there. but i'm just not entirely sure if that's appropriate or not
I'm writing an m file where and iteration of answers are calculated. I want to save each of these iterations in a matrix. How do I go about doing this?
j = 0;
for j < n; %n is a user input
futurevalue = P*(1+i)^j; % each of these calculation I want to save
j++;
end
Could be perception of less readiness I suppose. You could definitely still get elected though. And even if you don't, by next year you'll have enough experience and an epic enough record that you'd probably be a high pick
I do think you have a point about the momentum of the vote
Ya it's amazing... we get quite a bit with it too.... simulink, aerospace and biology packages... in fact we had a rep come through and said that our school has the best that you can take home...
That's cool. The college of engineering here has a certain number of shared licenses. The application is wrapped in this scary thing by VMware which checks the licensing server for how many licenses are currently in use, then loads a semi-virtualized copy locally, but it interacts with everything just as if it were installed normally
I'm about to head to bed. Just went on a closing spree... seems like there were more off-topic questions than usual tonight. Found a question that I ended up writing a pretty detailed answer on though, which was nice. Haven't been enough opportunities for answering lately
and I visited a friend, who's a manager in my previous employer's other companies (a specialized running shoe store)
he's a firm believer in natural running, so he wants to do a project to research the benefits of shoes like the Nike Free or rather show how it can be beneficial compared to regular running shoes
indeed...this was 2005 so I'm pretty sure dropbox wasn't around.
I had to get clearance from the admin to make it anyway as our work areas were limited to 40mb...and then it was too big to put on a CD and we didn't have any DVD burners :/
Hello.
is there a way to sort the e-mails in gmail by subject?
i don't mind if using a greasemonkey script for that job but i did not find anything relevant.
i also do not want to use any 3rd party email application to do. i want to be able to sort using the web interface.
thanks!
Can anyone give me a good reason why to keep closed questions around after a certain grace period for appealing the closing?
Every question that's off-topic, not a real question or argumentative/subjective becomes a dead end.
Keeping them around to serve as an example for new users apparently ...
@IvoFlipse Are there any situation where a question is closed to prevent answering more? But the quality of the question is still good and a good answer has been found?
perhaps it would be worth considering automatically protecting questions which have an accepted answer with at least n upvotes and are greater than m months old
