can trees grow in a pure CO2 atmosphere?

hmm
@Burgi errr... not really?
they'd suffocate in the dark?

hmm...

also don't forget
earth's athmosphere is mostly nitrogen
@Avery the bing translation on your tweet to the bank is... strange

bing tho.
@Burgi don't forget it'd also get really hot.

@Burgi they can make some O2 and recycle it

its really hot in rainforests

hot and humid

2:17 PM
insert childish joke here

omfg my brain hurts
we are moving about 6 different subnets, into a larger combined one, fine
except it's part of a project which is moving the wireless networks too (each subnet had it's own wireless network, (long story, kinda pointless)
that's all fine, until I got to the point at which I need to duplicat ethe access on the firewalls (multiple levels of)

:)
all the best, my brain hurts a bit
hi @Zanna

hey you (ooh the pings are cyan in this room! So much calmer)

@JourneymanGeek mmm jalapeno

2:27 PM
ahh yeah
They look green to me ;p

O_O
ask the hooman to check

lol

ah, tomorrow is the Firefox release day.
The last time I was vaguely interested in a FF release was during FF4
but they broke so many extensions, it's not funny

I'm still running vivaldi ._.

hipster

2:35 PM
hah
the web snippet sidebar is awesome

what about the browser?

@jokerdino mostly a chromealike
hm. Wait. it does tab tiling?
oh. my. dog.
2
@jokerdino I kinda like it?

I installed it earlier, then tried for 2 seconds and closed it.

the building opposite us has a fake owl on the roof to scare off pigeons

haha. Like anything scares pigeons.

2:42 PM
exactly

my mum is pretty scared of pigeons

its working so well there are two pigeons sat on its head

the dang thing eats up all the wheat put up on roof for drying
@Burgi lol!

i.imgur.com/1kgUqmt.jpg this is going to do very nice things for mah workflow
@jokerdino 0_0

@JourneymanGeek "workflow"

2:43 PM
or lack thereof ? ;p
still, its a nice way to use a 4k monitor

@JourneymanGeek looks like it will work well on a hyooooooge monitor
oh I'm late
@jokerdino me too!

it's a hugeass monitor

@jokerdino can you not get a cat or plastic sheeting?

they are aggressive

@Zanna dual UHD 27/28 inches

2:44 PM
wth
how far away do you have to sit from that thing?

not very far
about arms length?

personal computer cinema

@Burgi cat poop I guess

The idea of dual monitors is context switching? ;p

@jokerdino plastic sheeting isn't known for excreting poop, cat or otherwise.

2:47 PM
how does it work?

but how will something get dry if it's under plastic sheeting?

clear plastic sheeting?

(although I have no idea about wheat drying... can't imagine)
@Burgi how will the water get out?

I mean, let the sun dry wheat so we can grind it to flour later
to remove any moist

@Zanna angle it so condensation runs into a pot

2:49 PM
I think we can outsource this thing to you

(I stop now ;p)

hmm, the pigeons will then eat wheat under cover

i've never dried wheat but i do live in a country where it rains 400 days a year
@jokerdino put flaps on either end

lol

2:51 PM
what about a net? The pigeons can't get in but water can get out...

have you heard of the story where the pigeons fly away with the net?

@Burgi exactly, plastic stops water from moving
@jokerdino no but tbh I think there's no beating pigeons. They are in charge and the only thing to do is just forget about this wheat drying nonsense

@Zanna not if it is angled

anyway, my mum kinda buys packaged wheat flour from the market now

how are they drying their wheat, one wonders...

2:53 PM
@jokerdino the pigeons want you to be a proper tamilan, and eat rice ;p
They are helping you!

lol

@jokerdino are you tamil too?

yeah
who is the other one?

JMG

he's fake
jk, yeah we are both Tamil

2:55 PM
does he eat wheat?

HTH too

i'll be honest the only tamils i know about were ethnically cleansed by the sri lankan government

:(

A look back on how this 10-year-old game runs on modern hardware.

@Hennes It was the pinnacle of PC gaming for its day. It had by far the most advanced graphics ever seen, but it pushed PCs to its limits. At the time, there was no practical way to max it out.
The only card able to do 4k60 is the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.

LGR did a video on this last week

Can you guys tell me what keyboard to use for Android that's highly customizable

hey @Psycogeek, long time no see

@ThatBrazilianGuy Must be reason why some eBay sellers refuse to ship to that country.
Long time no see @Psycogeek

I thought some SU chat memeber took over your account.

And boy is that price tempting!

Life as a developer (or data scientist, in my case) involves being comfortable with changing technologies. I don’t use the same programming languages that I did at the beginning of my career, and I fully expect to be using different technologies several years from now. Here on the Stack Overflow blog, we’ve talked recently about technologies that are shrinking in popularity and those that are growing, but sometimes a programming language, framework, or technology comes out of nowhere and bursts on to the scene, or falls off a cliff. Sometimes there are dramatic shifts in a technolo …

Ryzen 5 2500U, 4C/8T Raven Ridge (Zen)@ 2.0-3.6 GHz. Radeon Vega Graphics with 8 NCUs.

Hiya ho. Boris yo , an burgi.

4:04 PM
everything going ok?

As you may know I am in An RV, what you mean I know is these RVs Fall Apart, daily 😜

did the house stuff not get sorted?

@Psycogeek I see. Taking trips on RV around country and it's hard to get internet access?

Yeah if you didn't hear I sold the house for high-dollar I'm in an RV, almost homeless, w/ two dogs two computers and a whole lot of tools to refix the damn thing.
Internet access is easy on the road, but the more you get away from the people. well that's logical the less signal of any sort is out there
As a side note for anyone who's in u.s Cricket network may use AT&T Towers but they don't use all of them the rural ones don't connect

@Psycogeek Glad ur ok.
2

4:16 PM
@Psycogeek Are you doing video editing from your RV?

lol @ "ur"

@bwDraco ??
shorthand

You sold the house? I remember you mentioned "landlord"

init.

@bwDraco Why lol?

4:17 PM
I'm in a bit of a silly mood right now :P

RV = recreational vehicle. He owns it =it's his.

Yeah the landlord my friend gave me the house in his will which was totally unprecedented

@Psycogeek Serious? What a twist...

i thought this was a family house, i'm so confused?
or are we talkin about the RV now?

That's great.

4:20 PM
Oh yeah it was a huge house but it was mostly purchased for Equity investment purposes it wasn't a requirement

@Psycogeek Are you going to stay in RV for some time or you are looking for your next house?

RVs are not an investment in anything other than time and money

Yeah I was supposed to be taking a long vacation in the RV but RVs are not designed for that

@Psycogeek Depends on RV internal space and quality?

4:23 PM
@Burgi that's pretty damn amazin

So in reality I haven't stopped working the whole time and I've spent $20,000 setting the thing up with soap solar computers and fixing it so it works right. nice vacation RVs are better off used on the weekends with you working on them on the whole week to get them to go.

RV is better than house. It lets you get away from brainwashed people and protect yourself from brainwaves.

GoPro now gotta give him a free cam tho

Yeah well the problem is RV dealers which you need to get stuff fixed are the lowest form of life on the planning

among most people who sell anything

4:26 PM
Add to that I've already dented it twice too because it's almost wider than the roads that I drive down

@Psycogeek got any pictures of your epic roadtrip?

California has his brilliant idea of adding Lanes and more Lanes wh to the road by turning 4 into 5 little tiny ones
Oh yeah I've got lots of pictures and I've been dying to load him up but I can't get this to work just yet
I got the Moto Z play as the new phone I bought it from our local large electronic store and it doesn't have crappy bloatware all over it, so cool.

@Psycogeek I thought mosquitoes are the lowest forms of life for planning their bloody attacks but I was wrong...

wow
looks like faceID is broken (not like that wasn't predictable) using anything public as a 'secret' is stupid.

@Psycogeek RVs is nice to have on Black Friday to shop stores out and resell that stuff.
One of my favorite ways of living dangerously...
Beware the brainwashed consumers with torches and pitchforks... for snatching their stuff.

4:35 PM
With two dogs I'm fairly safe from everything except for poopy bags with the high metabolism of the dogs we go through lots and lots of poopy bags😁

@Psycogeek :D

And RV should come like with a woman in it cuz it doesn't have a dishwasher or laundry machine.
And women love to do that stuff😱

"Danger: A dog with high metabolism"
@Psycogeek I didn't know they do. I need a woman.

I get 7 to 8 MPG, it's no wonder why these B RVs are usually parked it cost like 200 bucks to fill the tank
The thing weighs 6 tons and for the life of me I can't figure out where the tonnage is when most of it is plastic and paneling and foam

lol
huge terribly inefficient engine?
lol Parliment will vote on the brexit deal before we leave the EU?

4:40 PM
Yes get the Triton V10 the largest version of it in the smaller vehicle and yet it can still have trouble up the hills

eh and if they say no, then what :/

Yeah the biggest problem is it's still like driving a wall down the road the Europeans have managed to
Make completely modern designs but the Americans are still selling the same stuff that they've sold for 20 years

lol yup
america
where nothing has been manufactered for 50 years, but claim to be world leaders in it all.

Exactly smiley

@djsmiley2k They design in US, manufacture in China.

4:44 PM
And Americans are still oblivious as to what is occurred to their country

lol

If you are 27 trillion dollars in debt don't you like get off your ass in the morning and go to work?
60% of these corporations are hiring but if you can't do all the work on your smartphone who wants that job
You walk into stores and the employees go other machines over there or just use it, and multiple times I've tried to explain to them that there might be a purpose in their existence at that job
You can imagine going into a store and asking for something and the employees saying you can find that on the web
You go in to pay them and they say you can do that on the web you ask him for customer service and they say go on the web

@Psycogeek Wat.

Then you ask him why they're homeless and broke and they say because of the web😌

5:01 PM
Some fun, was the poorly-built water heater the Flames were burning badly which causes Flame to lick up the side of the RV
Not good a machine that can catch on fire what a little doggies are in there, evil

So what third-party Android keyboard does anybody use

@Psycogeek Google Keyboard is my thing

Yeah after what I've dealt with the stock one has less advertising and bullStuff, but I desperately wanted to make the keys bold and bright and big fonts and all that other stuff

@Psycogeek Wait. Google keyboard doesn't have ads?

5:12 PM
The two I tried though are more interested in other things lots of other things, they're excellent products if they would have stopped there. instead they decide to do abused the user first.
Pay for a good product
No Google doesn't have any ads😁
Directly in their keyboard at the moment
80% of Google's dollars come from taking your life and handing it out to advertisers.
Heck it takes me a week just to turn it all off and then it updates and turns itself back on again.
None of this add garbage works when you're not connected which is been a huge advantage you download add programs
Programs full ads but you don't go online, so you can't get the ads but now my phones are online my whole world is changed
Even if I didn't mind the ads and the tracking and the sending all my data to someone else, the problem is I have to pay for that and very expensive data and it slows my machine down so even if I like what they're doing, it still ruins the entire experience
Take your typical webpage nowadays 80% of what you're downloading you didn't want . most of my data ends up being used on the most everything's an ad
Read a page a text or a hundred pages of text and that one stupid ad that they had to throw in there that they make $0.05 on for the whole month, is where all the data is.
Then the next thing they say is well I had to put in the ads to pay for the server , but the majority purpose of the server ends up serving ads that they don't make Real money from
Some Good programs have Millions
Of users paying them a buck or two what the frick add is going to do that
The developers are out there destroying their programs for a couple of thousand bucks while a million dollars is lost

5:34 PM
hi, I set a wifi printer up, my PC can see it but when I print something all the printer spits out is blank paper
it has some ink left and I have full control on the printer ACL

Do you have a way to test the printer without Wireless

it works fine with USB but thats a bit tedious
so wanna use wifi

Jul 31 at 3:10, by bwDraco
Worst-case power consumption with components overclocked is probably in the ballpark of 550-600W, judging from what PCPartPicker is saying.

I can screen shot my promperties pages if needed

So... some extreme torture testing (FurMark + IntelBurnTest) with both CPU and GPU overclocked resulted in a ~560-570W peak power draw from the wall.

5:38 PM
Could be it has something to do with all the different ways that data can be sent to the printer? Raw , jpeg , postscript etc?

I tried printing a music score out, a PDF, and some scanned documents but maybe

Well I don't know for sure but to all that stuff in the advanced settings of a printer is gets pretty complicated
Rarely a printer might not recognize the method by which the data was sent to it, because it is doing a line feed the
You know it's connected and something was sent to it

ill try printing from notepad

@Psycogeek I used SwipeBoard or something from Android. After receiving Samsung A7 2017 I use Samsung's stock laggy keyboard.

nope, same deal here just blank paper still

5:46 PM
@bwDraco Why the need to overclock today's lightning-fast processors?

Yeah gone are the days where you just sent the text to the printer and it would print the text itself, internal fonts style.

@Psycogeek Do you find stand-up desks useful for brain performance?

Retailers Use stand up computers all the time
Myself I found that if I was going to really concentrate and save my butt that I need a stand up computer and a harness so that human can relax some too, I was thinking of ways of making a bungee harness with a track that it slides down, seriously
Standing up while using your computer would be a different mode for the human having both the physical and the mental right now the common method is to drop the physical so you can concentrate on the mental.

@Boris_yo Well...
It's an enthusiast thing :P

@Psycogeek I think better when I stand. Must have to do with blood pressure. Stand-up desk for a stand-up guy!

5:59 PM
Well it's true that blood goes where it's needed so when it comes to the mental and physical thing take for example after you've eaten a meal and then go swimming.

if i stand up quickly, i risk falling down
not enough blood.

Some very healthy people can do that without any problem

> I've spent $20,000 setting the thing up with soap solar computers
> soap solar computers
!!wat

The rest of us standing up using a computer the blood would flow to your legs instead of your brain, which is perfect for doing those repetitive obnoxious tasks but not good for creativity

Lol
Yeah so my typing is not worked out very well yet either but I actually did put the soap in here and the solar

@Psycogeek It helps me prevent drowsiness. Especially push-ups before that.

@rahuldottech Wait, you have slower internet than me? How's that even possible? (dat ping and upload tho)

@ThatBrazilianGuy Did you just design that?

@Boris_yo Yes, I'm fast like that Google has everything. Everything
For instance, let's put some random words in there:
"cats in pajamas eating tacos"
Boom

6:04 PM
@ThatBrazilianGuy monkeys on the line

@djsmiley2k That's... slightly racist? Stereotypist? Countryist? Whatever. A bit innapropriate?

no really
I remember how my friend from south africa used to have monkeys 'break into the house' and wreak the place
he'd throw them out the window

@ThatBrazilianGuy Internet got too big, but still has space to grow.

I once visited a lady who had small monkeys entering her window and asking for bananas.
In Rio.
stereotyping intensifies

I wouldn't need the soap if the Sonic shower it worked there's something wrong with the UV irradiation unit

6:07 PM
stereotypes start somewhere...

Speaking of which, yesterday a totally random bloco passed beneath my window out of the blue, just because (stereotype one).

bloco?

Bloke
Bloco in Brazil.

Because I am from Brazil.
:D

6:10 PM
One of those ----^
Only it was 50 people instead of 50 thousand people

hellloooooooo ladies
lol

Nice. How are chics?

It was 2 am but I woke up and went downstairs and joined them without knowing who they were or where they were going, who care, they had music and samba (stereotype two)
I followed them for two blocks and went back home lest I get mugged... guess what?
I nearly got mugged by this close (stereotype three)

@ThatBrazilianGuy It's dangerous in Brazil. I hear news all the time.

it's dangerous in dubai and south afrcia too

6:12 PM
News are biased. "Nothing bad happened and everyone was fine" doesn't make great headlines.

conclusion? the monkeys are mugging people
lol
nah, lots of stuff happens

Monkey negative stereotype, đŸ” party animal positive stereotype

The crowning point of the night was when I, trying to escape the muggers, entered a bar that had it's doors nearly closed and only two waiters inside. One of them yelled at me, I asked if I could stay a couple minutes or else I'd be at least mugged, he said "not my problem" and shoved me outside. Lovely!
It's from a bar literally in the same block of my building, the waiter knows me personally (knows my face at least) and pretended he didn't.

giving those guys a tip for service is no longer your problem

should of put the muggers through their windows
then it'd be their problem

6:20 PM
I sincerely hope he desperately needs some favor from someone and gets a big, cruel "no" in reply.
It's really hard to make me have ill will towards someone, but he managed that. Congrats, asshole waiter.
Then a hostel two buildings later was open, and I was talking to the clerk with a funny Peruvian accent who said "sure man, you can wait a few minutes on the couch, no problem"

learn jujitsu?

This guy is getting a chocolate box later.
@djsmiley2k Yeah, the thought of learning some martial art crossed my mind.
Realistically, I once paid for a year of gym and used two months.

when i did it i really enjoyed it
but couldn't afford to keep it up :/

Isn't the jiu-jitsu fighters who got those ugly cauliflower ears?

Chocolate, payback. that's why I'm nice to everyone

6:27 PM
i'm nice until you cross my line
and then i'll try and kick your head off

I just passed out right before they hit me scares the shit out of them

6:52 PM
lol

@dougsillars @rick_viscomi @paulcalvano @HTTPArchive So this Brazilian government website eats all my CPU to mine cryptocurrency when I land on their homepage... ouch (thx @rick_viscomi @HTTPArchive #BigQuery #bitcoin)

lol

I wonder whos inserting it tho
