@bertieb Her family isn't close to many people in the neighbourhood and she's a, well, different and complicated person (like me, I guess) so doesn't have too many friends. I'll ask her to go to the counselor once school reopens, but that's almost 2 months away... If she goes and tells an adult chances are that they'll tell her parents (even if they're only thinking about her own good) which will lead to her being hit and scolded badly 'for telling everyone a sob story'

predictably like other arrangements eventually you will pay and watch ads too, look how well that worked with cable and dish tv.

Yeah... it wasn't an obvious thing to check, at least not in the configuration that it's currently in

The patch panel is lying on the floor; the switch is sitting on a tower which is actually a Xen server running some form of RAID6/LVm combo which I've long forgotten how I set up in the first place

All of this is under a hastily-constructed frame with a half-sheet draped over it to catch the stoor that falls from the ceiling

I should post a photo of it some time

It would send half of RA into conniptions I'm sure

I'll take a RL screenshot next time I'm round... though I'm sure if I did it would end up on the daily WTF and a few select subreddits before the day was out

I mean it's bad because it's a temporary set up; it just happens to have been in place for about 4 or 5 years

(just had my own loft done, would happily take any recs going for a decent small-height 19" rack cabinet to do it properly from the start)
