Not sure about the US. My local experience with bars in NL though is "Stinks to hell and back. Crowded. Smoke so thick you cannot see beyond two meters. Noisy. No worst, *loud).
Not a place anyone would go if able to avoid.
As for Pubs: Irish pub is reasonable (still to loud)> And the Pembury in LOndon was nice outside a few very busy hours
"I just go outsuide for a quick smoke" is too common. Staying ouitside in fresh air for another 15 minutes afterward to get the smell out of your lungs isn't
Regardless of why they would want to cross the road, doing so is dangerous for turtles, especially since a certain percentage of the population will try to run them over.
However, snapping turtles are dangerous enough that I am certainly not going to try and pick one up, so how would I help one ...
