Ya know how women (yea I said women) will tell you "don't say that or it will happen"? Just because the men are smart enough to know what is about to happen, and possibly avoid it. So it is all so much BS that they have a belief system like that, and I am going to find a lottery ticket that won the big one tomorrow :-)
Then next I am going to discover time travel, and then anti-gravity.
Absolutely, I'm not denying that! I'm just stating that MS will allow other systems to be installed... It's not MS that's putting the restriction on, it's the mobo manufacturers that only include MS's keys
@Bob Well, they're overcharging my camera batteries
Basically I forgot to bring my camera battery charger with me and it'd cost 25EUR to buy a universal one here
So it turns out I had a spare USB-to-nothing cable I could tear apart and jury rig it to charge my battery from a USB port
Thing is it's a 7.4v battery, so I had to jury rig the battery to my dual-port USB power meter, and connect my phone to the other port to get my QC3 charger to deliver 9v. But even then it's a bit high (stock charger being 8.4v) so I was relying on the length of the USB cable to provide enough voltage droop to keep it "safe"
That's what the setup looks like... only problem is even with the 3m cable and the meter in the way, it's still delivering way too much voltage (and current)
That 8.2v there isn't too bad, but that's off my portable battery pack
Off the mains charger that's 3.4A going in (at 7.97v)!
Remember QC chargers are rated at 9v 2A, but even with the longest cable I have, the battery is still drawing 3.4A! o_0
That bit isn't actually that bad. The problem is with the 9v QC output, the battery's overvoltage safety cuts out at about 8.6v or something, and the cable's too good to maintain the voltage droop below 8.6v when the battery is >50%.
So yeah. While the battery is empty, the >2A current draw is enough to keep the voltage around 7.9-8.2v but as the battery charges, the current drops, and the voltage increases, until the safety cut out engages well before the battery is full because the current draw is too low to keep the voltage down
I'm trying to play Overwatch on an AWS EC2 instance. The GPU used in the g2 unit is not compatible with the game (NVIDIA GRID K520). Although I think the game should run fine. Looking at this forum:

@JourneymanGeek Eh, latency wouldn't necessarily be too bad
Bit of a lucky coincidence I had a random, spare USB A cable, and a two-way USB power meter thing with me too. Not only allowing my phone to command 9v from a QC charger but also metering the voltage and current just so I can keep an eye on its blow-up-likelyhood
Nonetheless >3A into a battery designed to charge at 0.8A from a charger designed to deliver <2A is a bit... scary. Hence why I moved the setup onto the stone floor instead of the fabric bed in the second photo :-P
Oh yeah, and also having an exactly 9v only QC circuit was also a bit of a coincidence too.
I was tempted to cut up one of those new reversible USB cables too, cause it's utter shite, but turns out I had a spare Y-cable on my USB3 SATA adapter so I sliced that off
My backup plan, had I not realised I had a 9v charger, was to daisy chain two AA batteries onto a USB port to give 8v :-|
@bwDraco Not when you have a 9v only charger it doesn't
This guy is a super spammer he,she or what ever keeps recommending the same product over and over in every answer like there is no tomorrow it's a bit funny in a way.

Some Pac-Man Trivia: "In 1980, the game was picked up for manufacture in the United States by Bally division Midway which changed the game's name from Puck Man to Pac-Man in an effort to avoid vandalism from people changing the letter 'P' into an 'F'" :)
The Billboard Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for singles, published weekly by Billboard magazine. Chart rankings are based on radio play, online streaming, and sales (physical and digital).
The weekly sales period was originally Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but since July 2015, this has been changed from Friday to Thursday. Radio airplay, which unlike sales figures and streaming data, is readily available on a real-time basis and is tracked on a Monday to Sunday cycle (it was previously Wednesday to Tuesday). A new chart...
Firefox 50's release notes:
Emoji for everyone! Firefox will use built-in Emoji on operating systems without native Emoji fonts (Windows 8.0 and lower and Linux)
So I'm on Windows 7 and I absolutely dislike colored emoji for how much distracting they are. There is no font file called "Emoji...

However, once Mavericks is released, the question will be perfectly valid and might even be posted again. Also, a moderator edited it—apparently ...

@Rahul2001 I have read before that america should be happy it is capable of maintaining such alliances after the unapproved actions, and illegal activity they pursue in ?
Also, I'm just 15, so may not really have an idea of what's offensive, so next time, please just ping me and tell me what I did wrong... I swear that I have an open mind...
what keeps WW3 from starting, the lack of any economic interest in doing stupid crap like that again? Or the quantity of people that want to see it happen ?
Especially since I do stupid things which I would never do at work (e.g. add non supported DIMMs and RAID cards. Change PSU cables, ...). That is something I would never do at a work place
