@JourneymanGeek The postman delivering to Journeymangeek! Sorry, missed that earlier/read in the stars.
21:38
@WilliamHilsum I wonder if others have got their post, still none here. Perhaps tomorrow morning...
@TomWijsman Maybe yours went the other way around the world!
@sidran32 Yeah, sometimes it stays on a location for some time and the other time it suddenly makes a lot of progress.
@TomWijsman Do you have a second to talk / are you busy?
@WilliamHilsum Well, if they were in separate batches, it could've been before and after the weekend so I think it'll arrive tomorrow.
@TomWijsman Good luck!

@WilliamHilsum Depends...
I was just wondering, when you are at university or where you have the big internet pipe, what speeds were you getting, especially on speed test? ... I have a problem at work I have to solve... find the perfect PC hardware!!! ... Basically, we just can't find equipment that can keep up with high speeds :/
even Ookla/speedtest.net only has about 400meg or so upload/download speed spare, so, we license a speedtest server from them and run it ourselves (accessible from within our network), but, that isn't perfect (guessing because of flash rather than anything more scientific).
@WilliamHilsum I think you can see both results if you look for speedtest in the chat transcript.
Will try to look now, thanks
It's not perfectly the announced theoretical speed, but rather like a few percent less on cable, a few more less on wireless.
Hmm... Didn't you have one that was over 100?
21:46
So might be because of Flash (isn't that interpreted anyway?)
I really couldn't say / not my area... I just thought it may have some overhead
No, it caps out below that.
I am going to be doing some raw iperf tests and stuff soon
ok
Maybe it was Nhinkle I was thinking about... his speed tests are ~300+
22:31
@WilliamHilsum: Yeah the package was delivered to Journeyman Geek ;p
23:15
Heh, not at home @wil. Only at school, on some computers, every once in a while, if I'm lucky.
OK this was actually pretty fast
23:52
@nhinkle That's about the same speed we get at University of Washington. :)
