I read a whole lot of hillarious fixes for nvidea optimus stuff, lots of the same, disable the nvidea completely. That isnt even a workaround, for me that would be more like "so your saying i need to toss the machine in the trash?"

Of course the next thing i was expecting would be a Microsoft MVP to come along and mark it as the answer .

Any ideas?

The issue is inextricably tied to the Intel HD Graphics driver, for what it's worth. The same issue cannot be reproduced with the NVIDIA drivers.

@bwDraco big feature of the OS to keep programs inside the space they are supposed to be in, bla bla bla, so they dont buffer overflow bla bla bla, save the world, keep programs from running into eachother.

anything that steps outside of the lines, is then immediatly shot down, shooting down critical drivers then collapses the whole system into a ball. And No i still cant read a dump and i still cant fix anything with one.

Sounds like: while the feature originates to keep everything from being vulnerable to exploits, anything that is just programmed badly, leaks , or step over the line, is taken out. This would eventually force all programs to have no flaws in programming LOL and for all programs to also work perfect in all systems in all cases .

@Psycogeek Graphics drivers aren't really a program that can be isolated. And drivers are responsible for the vast vast majority of OS instability these days, across all OSes (with the exception of OS X that runs on maybe 5 different distinct pieces of hardware).

@Bob thats the only thing i get from the dump info, plus the "Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework" service. So finding a drver that works right? I think never that simple, more like making sure things like chipset also matches (not mixing), and possible memory issue, or memory issue only when really pushing the memory , or heat etc.

Does Intel IGPU have internal memory for framebuffer (frame buffers is a whole shitload of everchanging data) or does it use the "shared" the regular board memory for everything including framebuffer? Which doesnt explain that his framebuffer works fine when it is being pushed from the nvidia

Now this is bizarre. I can create a drive whose letter is a colon with subst, and I can switch to it only with cd /d "::\", but switching from it with c: works some of the time
