First, you have to find a frame that is exactly the same shape. Then, add just enough iron, and carbon into the furnace. Add about 20% of chromium. Then, set the furnace to 6332 F, and wait for 30 mins. While waiting for metal to melt, read a newspaper. After, get out the liquid metal juice, and wait 3 hrs 30 mins to let it cool. Then, you have to get out the new frame of the fan, install it back to the fan, and ta da! Time: 4 hrs Materials: iron, carbon, chromium, furnace, optional: fan — Chris 1 min ago
@Psycogeek lol
He is insane ;)
I should delete the answer but the sheer madness 0_0

More downvotes ;)
i think he is trolling
@DavidPostill so its not just steel, it is stainless steel, it is beginning to make more sence now :-)
@DavidPostill Or a troll. Or an insane troll.
@Psycogeek Not really. Stainless steel is not a dust repellent. He originally claimed "If you build buildings out of stainless steel, they'll reflect all the dust away." and I called him on it ;)
@DavidPostill well he is referring to anti-matter proton dust, geez havent you been paying attention :-)

@Psycogeek lol
That will make for a cooler laptop (not)!
Just wait till we fit it up with a singularity, to suck out all the heat.
Singularity was an experimental operating system built by Microsoft Research between 2003 and 2010.[1] It was designed as a highly-dependable OS in which the kernel, device drivers, and applications were all written in managed code.
Hey, what's the name of that Linux distro that aims to be visually identic to Windows?
Forget it, I'll google
should someone take him to one side and find out if he realises he is mad?
visually or to (attempt) to be compatable with , in such that 2-3 programs made for windows would actually run on it before crashing ? ReactOS
@Psycogeek Visually.
For a 92yo user who's starting to suffer with dementia.
As in, the most visually similar to XP as possible.
CinnXP sounds promising: segfault.linuxmint.com/2015/08/…
Now I have to either figure out how to run Word 2003 and (ack... I- I can't say it) Outlook Express on it +_+''
or how to make LibreOffice and Thunderbird as similar as possible to Word 2003 and OE

@ThatBrazilianGuy that is a great idea
The evaporation point of water. For example, if you have a 212 F stove, and you boil water on it, all the bacteria will be killed. The boiling point, 212 F is when you boil water, all the bacteria is killed. — Chris 3 mins ago

@JourneymanGeek That's a possibility I'm considering.

Q: windows 10 not showing the same folders in file explorer and internet explorer file selector

user2223898I have a strange behaviour that happened suddenly on a user computer: When I try to select a file in internet explorer file selector I don't see the same folders than in windows. @Chris "all the bacteria will be killed" - more nonsense. There are bacteria that survive at 266 F. — DavidPostill 40 secs ago

@DavidPostill i'll have a go at answering it tonight
drywall?
Seems to be brick actually
@JourneymanGeek they drilled through brick to install?
@Burgi As a last resort. I prefer something that is free (both gratis and libre), less targeted by malware, usually "just works" specially on older hardware, and finally but not less importantly:
Only I will know how to mess it up, as ultimately the one supporting it will be me.
@Psycogeek yup
15:39

@Burgi Are there XP skins for Win 7 that make it really look like XP?
@JourneymanGeek so did you get all that brick out of your nose ? :-)
lol
I hope so
> For those of you using a Windows 7 machine, Microsoft is ending mainstream support for the operating system today.

Don't panic, though. Your computer will still work and receive security updates. Mainstream support mainly refers to free phone and online support, as well as non-security updates, which is offered for five years after the release of an OS or two years after its successor hits the market.

Microsoft won't end security updates for your Windows 7 PC until Jan. 14, 2020.

@Bob just kidding, of course. you almost had it, only I don't use capitals!
16:25
Actually I do usually have an emergency GPU, it is the old gpu when updating, kept for the sole reason to use If one should die. Even though if one should ever die, that is then an oppertunity (instead) to upgrade. Plus they come in handily for testing, which I also have never had to do.
Actually i dont know why i keep one :-)
if you add one more thing to fail on win10, you will miss XP even more
@Burgi Are you still planning to do that, or shall I write it up?

@BenN yes but i am not familiar with the virtual drives thing

@Mokubai I was just trying to get him to explain his answer ...
@Burgi Virtualized Folder not Drive

thats what i meant
@DavidPostill At this point he's either actively trolling or is actually as stupid as he sounds, either way he is not worth dignifying with a response as it's just enabling him.
i'm still in avoid traffic mode until post food
@Burgi I have a lot of stuff to say about Mandatory Access Control and whatnot, mind if I add another answer after you're done?

@Mokubai Yeah, I've given up on him. Hopefully all his stupid answers will be removed ...

@Psycogeek loving your work!

Q: What are the rules governing display names and avatars?

PopsThe discussion in this train wreck of a "question" led me to think of a real question. What display names and avatars are off-limits on the Stack Exchange network? I think I remember seeing a fake Jeff Atwood in the past on Meta, and a fake Jon Skeet on SO. If I recall correctly, the former had ...

The consensus seems to be that it's not terribad unless the impersonator could conceivably be mistaken for the real person
I suppose the real Chris Lambert could issue a DMCA ;)
Still, I think a suspension might be appropriate for the deluge of unhelpful content
He's been warned, right?
17:27
He has.
> Christopher Patrick Lambert is a former professional sprinter from England.
@BenN For now he's managed to silence himself, but as an unregistered user a suspension probably won't do much...
might explain his lack of tech knowlegde
I'm kinda iffy on the whole idea of unregistered posting, TBH
Though, looking through my flag history, about half of the blatant non-answers are posted by brand-new registered users, so maybe stopping unregistered answers wouldn't help too much
@BenN double edged sword, sometimes the unregistered users are the drive-by people who post the one thing that fixes everything.... most spammers seem to like registering, which is weird.
17:31
actually @BenN i'm feeling pretty spacey so i'll probably just pass out shortly so feel free to just post
@Burgi Alright, thanks :)
