Awesome! I got my first disconnect just now in my VM.. But it is on Google's end... My vm is fixed!

@CanadianLuke Ok. Good to know. Am I correct in thinking this is currently the only way to get a cert that doesn't cost money and is recognized by browsers?
 
If you want full SSL capabilities, then that's one way. You can also use Cloudflare, but that is only SSL from Cloudflare's servers to the client - not your server

Its automatic and you can always write a cronjob to do it?
I need to look at that, but I'm lazy and run a slightly less common webserver
