IIRC it does format the pendrive with NTFS. And makes it bootable. So it works quite well for older BIOS firmware boots. (or EFI with fallback).

But for EFI you need a disk format which is recognised. The motherboard maker might choose whatever that format is, but it must include a format which just happens to be compatible with FAT32.

And you need the right bootloader in /EFI/BOOT/ which is called BOOTX64.EFI on PCs

1) copy all files to a backup>
2) reformat as FAT 32
3) Copy files back
4) move EFI files from EFI/boot/microsoft/boot to /efi/boot and move move a c:\windows\.... bootmanager to BOOTX^$.EFI in that folder
