@RecycleBin Huh? I've been in chat for, what, 3 years now? I have hundreds of thousands of messages sent in here, many of them with profanity or some kind of negativity, but I keep it reined in to the point that I've never been suspended from any part of SE, ever.

You can win. You just have to be aware of what you're saying and how it affects others.

It's more how you use profanity. It's just words. Words that aren't considered profane can be used in an equally (or even more) offensive manner.

@RecycleBin There are multiple high-rep users in the SU community who have been suspended or threatened with suspension on more than one occasion. That's to say nothing of the amount of high-level suspensions that have occurred on Stack Overflow (they're way, way worse over there).

What is the value in posting it here? This isn't your personal blog. It might be alright if it were something relatively benign like blogging about your chemistry research or your sock collection, but not personal attacks.

There are other places perhaps better suited for ranting.

If you want to vent your frustrations in textual form without others commenting or getting offended, get a blog.

If you're expecting to be told "Its fine. You can randomly call your mother a cow, and drop F bombs here" That's not happening.

There are basically two general categories of things you can talk about here (in an extended, ongoing fashion) that are acceptable. One, talk about something relevant to Super User, Stack Exchange, or the technology/programming/coding/computer landscape. Two, talk about something that is specifically relevant to one or more other chatters, who are interested in what you have to say (even if it's off-topic). Both of those are fine.

Talking about something that is neither interesting to anyone here, nor relevant to computers at all, is therefore not acceptable.

If you want to just explain your situation in a calmer way, /r/offmychest might help (note they specifically say no ranting)

The people there are there to listen and be supportive.

@RecycleBin On that end - sometimes it can help to go to different people. What works for one person won't necessarily work for another.

There are probably communities of people out there in similar situations to you.

The trick is finding them.

Let me put it this way: when it comes to finding help with emotional issues, the Internet is one of the most liberating resources you can imagine. Getting others to support you can lead you to be a more settled, emotionally stable person. From that base, you can build up whatever strength you need to take action and fix your life.

Critic reviews give it an 85. I've played plenty of awesome games with that kind of review. The mixed reviews are mostly complaining about bugs, but that's what patches are for.
