Now I know how to do this : I will follow excactly what @HackToHell did.
Does anyone have a spare VPS that has ~1 gigs of space ? I'll download goldfish there and I'll rsync it onto my computer .
@JourneymanGeek this is the part where you jumps in and says yes.
@Bob or you could do that ;p
PS C:\Windows\system32> $a = "HELLO"
PS C:\Windows\system32> $b = "Hello"
PS C:\Windows\system32> $a -eq $b
True
PS C:\Windows\system32> $b = "OLLEHO"
PS C:\Windows\system32> $a -eq $b
False
PS C:\Windows\system32>
how do i make it case sensitive?
Bob
Bob
@Ash Hm?
Sure.
What do you need?
Ash
Ash
I can't clone them .
@bob found it
PS C:\Windows\system32> $a = "HELLO"
PS C:\Windows\system32> $b = "Hello"
PS C:\Windows\system32> $a -eq $b
True
PS C:\Windows\system32> $a -ceq $b
False
PS C:\Windows\system32>
nice
16:30

Ash
Ash

Bob
Bob

Bob
Bob

Ash
Ash
@Bob plain.
Bob
Bob
16:38
@Ash so you don't even want it compressed? O_O
why not just git clone then?
Ash
Ash
@Bob It gets stuck at around 200Mib.and I have to do it all over again.
Internet connection here sucks.
Bob
Bob
@Ash then you probably want something that does connection resume
Ash
Ash
Yeah , But with Git you have to do it all over again , isn't it ?
but I can always resume with http.
Bob
Bob
@Ash can you extract xz?
Ash
Ash
Yeah , I will try and do it.
@Bob got it.
tar -xJf file.pkg.tar.xz ??
16:48

Ash
@Bob thanks.

I'm testing right now, but the compress might have failed
explains the 33 MB :P
repo init -u git://github.com/CyanogenMod/android.git -b cm-11.0
and then followed by the usual repo sync
Ash
Ash
16:55
@Bob tell me when its ready.
Bob
Bob
@Ash sure
I'm trying to use pxz, which might be broken :\
Ash
Ash
@HackToHell just one question , what would you do with it. (Like I'm Five :p)
or write a blog about it later :p
Bob
Bob
@Ash Yea, looks like it's still gonna be about 600-650 MB
Ash
Ash
Ok.That will do :)
Bob
Bob
17:10

Ash
Ash
@Bob thanks again.
Bob
Bob
@Ash to decompress... if you're on linux, install p7zip-full

Ash
Ash
ok @Bob
Bob
Bob
uh.
@HackToHell the repo init thing is asking for a name :P
you wanna pick one?
or I could just give you ssh access
I don't know why it asks
Bob
Bob
17:14
@HackToHell should I use HackToHell?
I prefer the latter
Ok I suppose
Bob
Bob
annnnnd it wants an email -_-
I don't use it ;p
Never mind, I don't think it's needed
I'm not going to commit anything :D :P
Bob
Bob
@HackToHell whatever, I'll give you ssh
I'm trusting you to not abuse this

Ash
Ash
17:57
@Bob just one question , I can usually download files at about 120KBps but this file only at around 15KBps.Can you do something about it ?
Bob
Bob

@Ash this is hosted in the US...
I can get about 270kB/s from the same server, same file

Stupid DHL phone queue thing
Apparently, I got a parcel today. I got an email telling me about it being delivered today
This morning, I get an email that the parcel was left with my neighbor and that further details were left on a card in my mail box
But there was neither a card nor a parcel
And when I open the tracking site, they ask for your ZIP for you to get detailed information. But when I put in my ZIP, it says it's wrong...
So... wtf
Probably someone sent something to an old address of mine and one of my old neighbors considered it a freebie
I'll see tomorrow @bob, im sleepy ...

Welcome to Stack Exchange Podcast #58 brought to you by the Stack Exchange iOS app! Our hosts Joel Spolsky, David Fullerton, and Jay Hanlon are joined this week by our guests, the Stack Exchange Design Team: Jin Yang, Stéphane “The French Guy” Martin, Courtny Cotten, and Josh Hynes.

Let’s kick things off with Community Milestones (assuming Joel knows where he is).

Unrelated: Donald Knuth mentioned our TeX site in a recent TUGboat. …

19:56
Oh. apparently we're trying Cloudflare again....
20:27
@OliverSalzburg Or the current neighbour took the parcel, then ran over to your letterbox and ate the card! :o
@MichaelFrank Turns out it was the Glossy Box for my sister :\
Which is some girly thing you get delivered every month and I gave it to her as a gift for her birthday
And I get the notification emails :\
@OliverSalzburg Soon, Google and Amazon will think you're female :D
good ol' targeted ads
@allquixotic Don't get me started on that shit!
A lot of that stuff is simply based on IP and I used to get tons of girly ads because I shared a connection with my girlfriend
Every other Youtube ad was about hair color products and shit
Drove me nuts
> We’re busy breaking Super User by trying to migrate it over to CloudFlare.
I knew it!
20:47
@Braiam you getting errors again?
21:06
Wait, @allquixotic, you're not getting errors on the main site! ?!?!
@Mokubai not yet
It's been flakey and basically unusable for the last hour or so for me. Just came back a few mins ago.
in The Hangar, 16 mins ago, by Bret Copeland
just being honest, talking about this bores me. I'm a dev. If you have complaints about our infrastructure, you should send it to an SRE.
tried bringing it up with said employee ;p
in The Hangar, 13 mins ago, by Bret Copeland
@ratchetfreak maybe your packets are being delivered by boat.
Intriguing...
21:21
*checks to see if Bob is around*
I love "The Sentence" feature of Beats Music
complete the sentence: I'm <at location> & feel like <what you feel like doing> by <who you're with, or 'myself'> to <genre>
>__>
"I'm at work & feel like chilling out by myself to pop" --> Destiny's Child
Huh. Sounds kinda neat. Just don't let any teenage boys near it... "I'm in my bedroom & feel like having a good time with myself to hard rock"
@Mokubai lol
what music do you like @Mokubai ?
Too many different types, rock, pop, metal, dubstep... These days I seem to be listening to a bit of k/jpop...
@allquixotic, you got any particular favourites?
@Mokubai yea ;p
Like?
21:33
@Mokubai Keane, Sting, Angels & Airwaves, Ben Folds Five, Boyce Avenue, Oasis, Ingrid Michaelson, My Chemical Romance, Sylvan, Poets of the Fall... just to name all the English ones ;p many in Spanish also
Personally I try not to only listen to one particular type of music cause there's always something cool around the corner.
@Mokubai well yeah
I'm multilingual so I'm always listening to Spanish/French/Italian songs too
Andrea Bocelli and Charles Aznavour are kinda my gateway into that... from there, Placido Domingo, Julio Iglesias, Juan Bau, ...
Most of those are pretty good artists...
Bocelli I like, I just have to be in the mood to listen to him.
@Mokubai I'm always in the mood for Bocelli ;p
@allquixotic I barely speak English, let alone another couple of languages
21:37
I like so many artists tho. I keep a running "Starred" playlist on Spotify of fun songs I discover while searching
there are two types of artists for me: artists that I like a song by them, and artists that I can listen to their entire album(s) on repeat for an entire day
I know a little french and German, though it's been years since I needed to use them. Picked up a couple of words of Japanese here and there...
@allquixotic I find it difficult to listen to single albums these days
some examples of the former: Jamie Cullum, Chris Botti, Katherine Jenkins, Natalie Cole, Dyango, Leonardo Favio, Counting Crows, Builders, Sia...
the ones I first mentioned I can listen to entire albums on repeat <3
Wait. I thought I could follow people on Spotify. ...
Seems not
@Mokubai you can ;D
Either that or the mobile app just sucks
21:41
that ^
Which wouldn't surprise me, cause it does. It sucks badly
Dawn you autocorrect! When I want to say something sucks then I mean it sucks! It does not mean it had socks!!
@allquixotic What's there to lol about?
How can a paid service have such a poor app?
Aha!

2 hours later…
23:30
This was fun to make
I like vector graphics
And now it's already so late :(
