Hey guys, my interesting question of the day - I want to make an MP3 cd for the CD player in my car. My car seems to have an idea that i can sorta things into folders. If I make folders with just mp3 files and burn a CD (Just using finder), will it work in the CD player?

@SimonSheehan I did mine all on what would be the root. Added random numbers to the files so it would "shuffle" because the player had to have shuffle re-engaged every time again, so before engaging the shuffle i wouldnt have to listen to 50 alan parsons songs, in a row.

@Boris_yo tear apart , get gaskets , add lube to gaskets, replace gaskets plop back together. Having a gasket set (various sizes) on hand can help, even if you dont have the right one, you can try stuff.

While your in there have some sort of acid , like CLR on hand to eat away at calcium deposits if needed.

Of couse like anything it can get much more fun as you get in there. Cranking on it with a wrench and having the whole rusted back end fall off. Having to punch through the wall to fix it and seeing that even more of it is rusting and leaking into the walls, and other fun thing that you wish you never saw.

washers are always round, not necessarily rubber

gaskets are usually rubber, or some other compliant material and not always round

Looks like washer would be the most proper term, for that.

@Boris_yo Hardware store. If you have to remove more stuff, have "teflon tape" on hand. it beats the heck out of plumbers goop , for connecting pipes, and sealing screw on fixture parts from leakage

@Boris_yo you would always put in a fresh seal thing in the moving parts seal when easy to do, if you already have it apart. (and lube things where apropriate) , But your talking about putting in the whole new assembly?

@JourneymanGeek Replacing the head washer on my car engine, is certannly not the same as replacing the head gasket, but it might get some laughs at the parts store :-)

@Psycogeek Well I don't have lubing stuff, gaskets etc. to put into existing moving parts. So I am left with new washer for full replacement. Okay I could get machine oil for lubing, teflon I already have but where would I get acid to eat calcium?

My last fix had:

1. CPU and radiator off
2. Cooler did not turn on GPU which led to overheating and blank screen

I assembled CPU and radiator, cleaned cooler from smoking residue and lubed it with kitchen oil. Works well, computer fixed, experience earned 730 points, money earned - $0

Even if they (relatives) treat you like bitch, always try to find something good in it.

@Boris_yo sure silicon (the non paintable kind) is great for going around everything after, so water cant go back into the walls. But i dont know of many areas where one would want to apply it intside. Cant put it in moving stuff, cause it will roll off, dont want it on threads, because it would be unnessisary locking it down, making it harder to remove.

It therin would be no secret for the last few symbols applied , that might look odd to some people, can be found in glyphs in standard fonts of american computer systems. There would never be anything different, that could have even occured Here on the planet, had one person thought just slightly different, or another person didnt follow that.

Meaning we are so ingrained into the training we have , even across country and language, that our conception of normalcy and alien, moves on a scale of 1-100 to about 2. When i percieve that a civilisation with completly different input, possibly different structure (be that even thin and grey with big eyes) would hit the scale at about 50. With us thinking it to be totally wrong, incomprehensable, completly insanely different.

-It is even rediculous to assume that the conception of 0 & 1 as a binary simplicty , is a method of communications. When it would have been As Easy for a different civilisation to have applied the same transister structures we utalise to think binarly , In something more than an On and Off switching.

_ if it was not for thousands of years of stale linear thinking by the entirety of the populations , what we deem as inteligence , would Not have been passed easily from generation to generation. So the mere proof of our great advancement in a very stale and limited way, is also proof that there was not much adaptation beyond that.

We wouldnt be where we are today, if everyone went off in wildly different directions.
