@JourneymanGeek ar you there ?
how to mount drives not in fstab ?
Well, I need a lightweight editor..
@Overflowh just an "editor"?
@Braiam Unfortunately yes.. I think that an entire IDE is too much for my live-persistent Lubuntu..

@Overflowh Vim ;)
@Bob Does it have a dark "skin"? I use to study/code till late, with all the light turned off..
Bob
Bob
@Overflowh The default in a terminal is a black background! :P
err... vim is dark!
Bob
Bob
(And, yes, it has light as well if you want.)
There's no shortage of Vim themes, and you can define your own. I'm partial to Solarized, though the default/included ones are decent.
@Bob No, I don't want to use a terminal thing :( I know that vim has also a gui, I used it..

Ah. Never used gVim myself.
@Bob Ehm.. it's too much if I ask you for a screenshot of the Vim you use?

@Overflowh ^
The second one is the closest to "right" I can get.
Wow, thanks!

It's using solarized, but a combination of screen and PuTTY and my messed up config means the colours don't work as well (the first is in screen, the second is not)
And, yea, this is a SSH session from Windows 8 :P
@Bob Does not seems a terminal

It looks more like the second when i use it in konsole.
@Overflowh Oh yea, vim has mouse support if you want it :P
The learning curve can be steep, but it's powerful and light.
I just googled whenever i needed to do something I didn't know. The basic editing stuff was pretty straightforward.
You start off in command mode. Press i or insert to enter insert mode. Type stuff. Press escape to go back to command mode.
:w writes to file, :q quits, :x writes if changed and quits
that's enough to start editing :P
@Bob Mouse support in the terminal? Nice o.o and it implements also advaced features? Like, autocompletition?
Bob
Bob
/<something> searches forward, ?<something> searches backward, omitting a search term repeats the last search... and this can be used in man and less as well
a lot of things use vi-like syntax
@Bob I will give it a try right now :p
Bob
Bob
@Overflowh Autocompletion? Sure.
You'll want to at least add this to your ~/.vimrc :
syntax enable
filetype indent on
filetype plugin on
that'll enable syntax highlighting and autoindentation - it'll detect based on file extension
set mouse=a for mouse support (a being "all" or something)
I have to write down all those things :p

A: Autocompletion in Vim

michaelmichaelYou can use a plugin like AutoComplPop to get automatic code completion as you type.

hm
I need to get that :P
@Bob Code suggestions in the terminal? :| So, it's not a real terminal..
Bob
Bob
huh?
@Bob Well, code suggestion needs to open a pop-up with all the possible choice right? And in the terminal you cannot open pop-ups, it's just a terminal.. or not?
Hii all , I dont know whether this is the right place to ask such a question , but today i found a person who repairs faulty hard disk and mother boards which are having problems like nor detecting by windows , no display respectively with just keyboard
how is this possible ? how this works , i think he is sending some secret codes , like post codes receaved from bios , some what like that .. ? any one with any idea ?
Bob
Bob
@overflowh you can draw them with extended ascii characters
19:05
BTW, @ThatBrazi i.sstatic.net/ZomgO.jpg
@Bob Yeah but they cannot draw on another "layer".. the popup with ascii characters must remain on the same layer of the terminal.. and this will mess up a bit the code..
19:26
@Braiam I never used identicon IIRC.

2 hours later…
21:30
Oh, new topbar O_O
hey, is anyone in here familiar with adobe audition by any chance and knows how to jump to the start/end position of a range marker (or at least keep playback position and waveform display position in sync)?
21:44
nvm, found it ( >| button)
@OliverSalzburg Where?
@Boris_yo MSO
!!urban mso
@Boris_yo mso "me saying oh" in text talk.
21:45
@OliverSalzburg Still same template
This is what I have
@OliverSalzburg Just color changed on top while template stayed same.
@Boris_yo Hardly
The key changes are in the functionality. But if you still got the old one, then you won't be able to see that
22:04
@Boris_yo No. Looks interesting though
22:30
@OliverSalzburg It will be $50 on Black Friday
@Boris_yo I already have a mouse though
