00:00
There’s a slight pause. “I don’t know your voice, who’s up there?”
(how's Hopford's ritual going?)
(six minutes left)
"I'm the new Spanish language interpreter and they're making me watch the performance deck on my first day."
"And I'm the substitute janitor." I pause to shape water onto the deck. "Someone made a mess here so I need to clean it up before anyone slips. You're not coming up the stairs are you?"
I'll be nice and not splash the possessions
00:08
“Oh, wow. I really should know your names, I’m so bad at checking the onboarding emails. Sorry about that.” The footsteps descend slightly in an apparent moment of social anxiety. “Uh, just let me know on the radio if you see Ryan around, she needs to come give feedback on the new training schedule.”
"Sure thing. Be sure not to slip, this place sure can get wet!"
I think I'm actually going to have to get a part time job here to help the cover up
“Heh. Yeah. Uh, buenos noches or… yeah.” The footsteps descend back down and you hear them exit.
Hopford gives a grateful thumbs up to the two agents mid-ritual
"...Why do they always say buenos noches? Every time."
00:10
"Take notes, this is how professionals work" I say to Hopford
I give a dramatic thumbs up and pose to Hopford
The ritual can complete without further interruptions at this point, assuming you keep going to the end.
Hopford finishes the ritual
You get a very faint ping coming from inside the backpack, divination magic.
"Hwell, there's something in that backpack..."
"Illusion magic"
00:14
The diver starts to ascend back towards the surface, kicking their fins slowly. The small whale floats up after them and butts them playfully with its head, and they pause to give it a reassuring pet on the head.
What does the name tag on their clothes say?
The shirt in the clothes pile has a magnetic nametag attached reading "RYAN."
"Diver's coming back up, check that magic quickly."
Hopford investigates the bag
9+9=18
You open the bag and find an unopened bag of Cool Ranch Doritos, some assorted papers and folders that look to be school-related, and a small whale keychain, which is the object giving off the magical energy you sensed. There is twenty dollars in cash rolled up and stuffed into one of the side pockets.
The diver nears the surface; they appear to be wearing a wetsuit, scuba mask and two heavy oxygen canisters on their back.
00:19
Hopford tries to quickly pocket the keychain for identifying later
Do we abscond or what?
As you touch it, you get a tingly feeling and suddenly feel very connected with nature.
Does Hopford need to roll anything?
If not he absconds
No need to roll, it just happens.
You just roll with it
00:21
Abscond powers, activate!
You exit before the diver surfaces and return down to the viewing area, where the two whales are now visible gliding gently around in the water.
You hear some distant cursing ("where did it go, did I drop it?") followed by a swear word in what sounds very much like Aquan.
Hopford feels very guilty, and passes the keychain to Adrian
"You took this?" I whisper, stopping halfway down the steps
"We should give it back. But, what language did she just speak in?"
"It's magic... Something to do with a Nature connection...?"
"She spoke Aquan ahh think...?"
"Let's go back up, I think she might know something."
00:25
You hear some slapping and water dripping sounds, presumably the sounds of the diver changing back into their clothes, and more muttered profanity, definitely in Aquan.
I look to the others to see what they think
Hopford nods shamefully
I saunter back up the steps, calling up
(Shall we stop here/very soon)
"You need help with something?"
(That's fine with me)
00:29
('tis time <3)

Q: Can a player use two characters in a campaign?

ArgoI've been the DM in a campaign based in the Eberron world and the party is made primarily out of squishy level 4 characters (wizard, druid, and a bard.) During one of the combat encounters we had an issue where one of the enemies had resistance to magic which ended up making it so I had to rethin...

@AncientSwordRage relevant?
