Okay I just realized piercer lets you reroll damage, not attack
That's
Holy crap

I really wanna try Star-Cirle Druid
They seem like a really, really unique build
03:17
You know what's a really really interesting concept that's never really seemed to have been explored in DnD?
Builds which rely on you being below like your hit point maximum or sacrificing your HP for cool stuff
Like a Blood Pact or like a Ultra-Berserker Barbarian or smthing
it seems you have been spending some time dreaming up different characters
yes I have
I'm going to end up having like 20 characters that never gets played ;-;
whereas I am being very normal and focusing on making Astrid a vanilla cleric
It's not vanilla
Astrid is awesome :D
03:33
You're doing all this optimization planning and here I am fretting over whether Astrid is the kind of dwarf to cast a spell
For example, Inflict Wounds is very powerful but I concluded that Astrid wouldn't use it
that's my decisions, basically
also, taka a look at my network rep count!
Geez
You really like your 666s
@bobble Roleplaying is a perfectly valid reason for character building and is probably better than optimization
In fact, I almost don't want to optimize because to set-up is a mass headache

@bobble me: "yeah I think Giant Killer definitely fits with Kith's personality"
Kith kills giants with pure sass

@Sciborg @msh210 I might be available for a Catch-up Session™ tonight

I DMed yesterday and will be DMing tomorrow and Thursday, so I'm taking today as a break day :P
gasp you have a limited DM capacity?
Gotta rest my creative juices :p
must allow more juices to fill up the ol' brain-box
indeed
and now i must get back to workin'

4 hours later…
21:16
Huh, I did not realize that you can't cast a spell as a bonus action and as an action
21:46
@Sciborg *offers snack for break day*
22:21
Hm, I forgot about my bard stuff.
> Starting at 2nd Level, you can add half your Proficiency Bonus, rounded down, to any ability check you make that doesn't already include your Proficiency Bonus.
So you get +1 to non-proficient skills?
And:
"Also at 3rd Level, you learn how to use your wit to distract, confuse, and otherwise sap the confidence and competence of others. When a creature that you can see within 60 feet of you makes an Attack roll, an ability check, or a damage roll, you can use your Reaction to expend one of your uses of Bardic Inspiration, rolling a Bardic Inspiration die and subtracting the number rolled from the creature’s roll. You can choose to use this feature after the creature makes its roll, but before the GM determines whether the Attack roll or ability check succeeds or fails, or before the creatu
@bobble yeah
I should bear these in mind.
So Bards are really the Jacks-of-All-Trades
I was messing around yesterday and found a way to maximize the number of skills learned
@bobble yeah, that's what it's called
22:27
If you take 10 levels of Bard, 6 levels of Rogue, 1 level of Cleric, any Background, Half-elf race, Skilled Feat, and Expert Skilled, you can be proficient in 17/18 skills
You can also take Ranger to be proficient in all skills, but Animal Handling isn't that useful
@PrinceNorthLæraðr heh
You can also ditch Cleric (losing two skills), and take 10 Levels of Rogue, which would allow your 15/18 skills to never "roll" below the value of 10 :P
Ah, wait, nevermind
It's a level 11 rogue skill
Hm, the thing is, at level 10 you get two more expertise
Oh wait holy crap
Bard+ Rogue= OP
In terms of skills
put it on the list of character ideas

Q: How does Jack of All Trades interact with Reliable Talent?

VodkaholicThe Bard's Jack of All Trades says you can add half of your proficiency bonus to rolls to skills that you otherwise can't add your proficiency bonus. And the Rogue's Reliable Talent feature lets them roll a minimum of 10 on any skill that benefits from their proficiency bonus. So if I am a Rogue...

Nah, doesn't interact with each other, at least, not for skills you're not proficient in
23:20
Wish me luck! My trial is in less than an hour O_o
Or sorry, less than two hours
