1:15 AM
hmm
its been a while since I've done this but
I feel like the newer question's actually better and the old one ought to be the dupe of the new one

1:30 AM
@JourneymanGeek Do you know much about web stuff?
Like WebSockets etc?

2:07 AM
@forest nope

9 hours later…
11:33 AM
@bertieb got it!
I didn't quite realise how big 55 inch teevees are 0_o

1 hour later…
12:47 PM
lol
TWSS
More seriously
remember my plasma?
the one that basically has ONE set of inputs that works cause I periodically squirt contact cleaner at it?
55 inches :D

1:20 PM
ah nice
mines-, ah... (sigh), guess I'm saying it anyway... mine's smaller
only 45/50 inches I think?

1:33 PM
I think 50 is the next standard size down

1:56 PM
50 inches oughta be enough for anyone
(PAIGE NO etc etc)

2:12 PM
lol
I'm looking at a 55 for the new place
Kinda debating getting an OLED tho >_>

I've had the same TV now for like 15 years now.
Remote control doesn't work, which is annoying.
But I just use it for Chromecasting mostly, so I control the volume from my tablet.

about 16
2 dead remotes (we found a universal that mostly works) and on to the third. almost all the composite ports are corroded for some reason and don't work
and I can't really clean them up cause they're at the back so I use the front one
since the original remote dosen't work, we can't change the aspect ratio so the one 'modern'port is a VGA which makes everything look fat
and it gets used an hour or two a week so...
It'll likely last quite a bit longer :D

2:44 PM
haha nice

Well it dosen't do anything fun
like our previous drier
which went through about 7-8 belts, had half its heating elements then all fail, and kept tripping the house power

That does sound like fun

3:00 PM
one day it did it at the wrong time so mom was "we're buying a new dryer"

I recently got a new washer/drier unit. The washer auto-balances itself which is spiffy.

like without needing to adjust the feet?

I guess. It never makes banging noises when it's spinning and the clothes are not distributed evenly.

4 hours later…
6:52 PM
I just discovered that you can give a flash drive a custom icon (Windows)
Neat!
Just put a .ico file at the root, and then create an "autorun.inf" file with the ICO file name.
[autorun]
icon  = flash-drive.ico

7:42 PM
Been that way since the Windows 9x days :) Same with CD drives
You can even use the autorun.inf file to create a custom right-click menu with different commands to run

2 hours later…
9:51 PM
I had to reformat a flash drive using Rufus and it put those files on the flash drive. :)
