Well, here, when you receive this particular attribute and if you're
vulnerable, your equipment automatically gets disconnected from the
Internet, so the issue kinda solves itself.

@rahuldottech superposition of bed and closet space maybe. idk. More importantly, why was there a pink steven in his belly gem, I wonder? These are the mysteries of life.
I came here to say something about the word 'congrats' reminding me of 'rats from the congo' but the last thing I said was insane enough. Pleasant day to all of you.

3:09 AM
blah
apparently raspis use yet another way of managing IPs which its own syntax
and I just epic failed switching it back to the old way

3 hours later…
6:07 AM
Are you talking about not using Network Manager or /etc/network/interfaces?

lol
I want to use /etc/network/interfaces
I've converted from netplan (which is badly flawed and completely unfit for purpose IMO on ubunt)
apparently raspberry pi s use DHCPD
hm. I wonder if I actually need to set that system with a static IP on the router too. I shouldn't...
and since I want to use pihole the static IP setting makes sense

> In meetings prior to this incident, subordinates who were probably programmers, technical writers and other professionals repeatedly warned there was a problem. They were ignored. Not only were they ignored they were repeatedly threatened with their jobs if they didn't shut up and start being team players.

The company then went on to hire a 23-year-old "security expert" with no experience becuase he put "Agile" on his resume. The six 45-year-olds with actual experience and demonstrated knowledge and ability were passed over because they were "too old."

> A POOR Air Quality Alert issued for Saturday by the Office of Environment and Heritage due to elevated OZONE pollution in Sydney.
o_O
Ozone... pollution?

6:23 AM
Yup
Ozone is good in the ozone layer
Its pretty nasty at ground level

Yep,
> Whether in its pure form or mixed with other chemicals, ozone can be harmful to health. When inhaled, ozone can damage the lungs. Relatively low amounts of ozone can cause chest pain, coughing, shortness of breath and lung irritation.

Bob
More of a ... how?!
It's not like we routinely get ozone in Sydney

6:42 AM
@Bob factories?

Bob
6:52 AM
> in Sydney

@Bob dunno, have very limited experience in that place

7:25 AM
> There are reports that air traffic control are making more mistakes due to the stress and that existing accident reports are not being reviewed. Former intelligence officers are saying that the mixture of economic stress and anger means that many government employees are greater targets for espionage. A lot of Cybersecurity workers are furloughed meaning that many servers and computers are not be getting patched and networks are not getting monitored. The FBI is reporting that it can't afford to pay off its informants which is hindering its investigations. Those are just some of the many
Goddamn man. What even is that country.

7:46 AM
@CanadianLuke ... apparently the pihole script does it for you
only that this is literally the first time I have gotten it to work

8:34 AM
@JourneymanGeek the distro uses dhcpd, .....
I mean, I ran gentoo on a raspi :D
@Bob Thunder storms?

@djsmiley2k ya.
But I couldn't get the classic network config working

Anyway managed to get the pihole installer up and running soooo

In Windows 7, is it possible to create a symbolic link (or something similar) that supersedes a real folder, to trick a program into writing into a different folder?

yup

How?
mklink /D C:\folder1 C:\folder2
won't work if C:\folder1 exists
and I can't delete folder1

Is there anyone here who knows computer French?
As in the words that the French use so their language doesn't get too Englishy?

er....

We have a technical document that mentions "soccle" or "socle", and we're struggling to understand what it means

and google translate isn't good enough?

No, it just translates it to soccle
or rather Pedestal

3:57 PM
and what is the context?
> place the item on the pedestal

No, not like that. It's in the context of computer systems
apparently it means something like Baseware, which is a term I have never even heard of

can you provide the complete sentence?

Might be meaning desk, too

4:18 PM
good shout
again context is everything...

5:13 PM
Looking back (see context)...

Gray hair at 30? Fine by me.
And even now, that's fine by me :p
...and that might be flaggable.
Sorry about that.
Regardless... your thoughts on stress, productivity and achievement, and whether it's an appropriate trade-off to make?

5:37 PM
@bwDraco I hate stress, so I avoid it

6:00 PM

Hi guys. In Firefox, can you recommend me an extension that lets me redirect pages with wildcards, so that if I follow a link to one URL I go to another URL instead, and also allows me to temporarily disable or re-enable such a redirection rule easily?
Eg. if I would load a page with url starting with "https://www.dailymotion.com/video/" then I want it to take me to the url starting with "https://www.dailymotion.com/embed/video/" instead, but keep the suffix.

8:37 PM
