@David How would that help? Unless I don't understand it, wouldn't that be lost as well? .... Or does Time Machine backup to different locations?

When I used it last (A few years ago) I thought it was like Microsoft VSS

Thinking about it, it's actually quite useful to know OSX supports exFAT too, so it's quite useful as an answer in its own right.

In all honesty I have little inclination to actually find out what it is bitcoin is actually using the cycles for, for all I know it could simply be to generate heat and waste electricity.
