@TomWij I can't really say... it just seems too impressive... I won't lie at all... I have been a "little"/hobby programmer, I have hardly done anything on .net and when work required it, I used classic ASP and VBscript/SQL commands.... I just can't believe that a single command can do... well... hours of work! on top of that, I am worried to trust in case it comes back to haunt me! What I have done may be ancient, but it works!

I see where you are wrong, but to clarify your goal... Do you realy mean Win Forms or do you mean Web Forms?

I am learning MVC now as I have quite a few web projects... in addition, there are standard windows client/server applications I want to make - obviously I want to use similar technologies, however today, I have been learning MVC with EF and I have no idea where the boundaries are of each... e.g. what I can reuse in the winforms app.

does that make sense?

I think I just need to find some better tutorials/learn EF a bit more before going straight to MVC!

I don't know about current processors, but intel used to slow down and shut down if they overheated, and AMD used to start smoking.

@tintincute : hm. generally recovery partitions are supposed to be 'safe' - else you may need to contact your OEM for a copy i suspect. Else, you're going to need an install disk.

@tintincute: on the short term, you could prolly use a livecd. it isn't windows, but it should at least make the computer usable

@MattJenkins : neat thing with one of my old PIVs was, it was overheating, and we stuck a box fan on its side to keep it going ;p

@tintincute I tend to use ninite to install most of the freebie stuff. saves a load of time. What makes you think you have a keylogger? do you have any other suspecions, and why?

fahad: most modern systems SHOULD have some degree of overheat protection. However if if you don't know if it'll damage the system in questions, your skills are not good enough to try it, XD
