Since the criteria for the Curious badge makes it clear it need not be consecutive “Ask a well-received question on 5 separate days.”

I got two dozen Vexillologists overnight, for posts I flagged as Very Low Quality / Not an Answer / Rude/Abusive / Spam and all of which (AFAICT) have been subsequently deleted.

So perhaps it's "vote/flag a question and it gets closed, or flag an answer and it gets deleted".

Close votes are technically flags too, so that would fit the name of the hat.

@Derpy This year, with Nicolas at the lead, you may notice that a lot of the hats come from the cultures of our international SO sites - (Russian, Japanese, Spanish/Mexican, and Portuguese/Brazilian)... we actually asked the mods on those sites for ideas that would represent their cultures - Mariachi was one of those. I'm not sure why the number three was chosen but I doubt it was because of that song.

@Scratte I didn't say you wouldn't. I said that that not-so-good idea caused users fighting over who found the hat first and that wasn't nice at all. No need to repeat the error, it was removed for a reason.

@Derpy can be fixed by just giving the hat to everyone who guessed correctly, not only the first.

(to a limit of course, which is when it's obvious someone already copy what others said before)

the user who has the hat has posted a lot of questions today, accepted a few answers, and added comments to either his questions or to answers on his questions. Nothing else at all.
And given the name of the hat, it sounds as if the action should help the other person as well, in this case whose answers are being accepted
