@GratefulDisciple Thanks for this! Bookmarked.
@GratefulDisciple What does Swinburne say exactly?

@LukeHill Who knows? I once got suspended because I made a few too many comments on a thread, apparently.

@GratefulDisciple It's a nice sentiment. But "we can never understand God fully," while true, is also a nice way to provide cover for faulty beliefs.
@GratefulDisciple "God and Jesus" says it all. I hear "God and Jesus" all the time from both Catholics and Protestants. Nicenes think of them as two distinct gods. Their language itself demonstrates this.
Besides being confusing and contradictory, the doctrine of the Trinity of Persons is simply unnecessary and superfluous. There is a much better and more biblical way to understand Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, which is neither confusing nor self-contradictory.
> And the Lord will become king over all the earth; on that day the Lord will be one and his name one. (Zechariah 14:9)
That day has arrived for those who understand the true nature of the Trinity in the one Person of the Lord God Jesus Christ, who is king over all the earth.
If here on earth due to the weight of human tradition you are unable to accept the truth about God, who is Jesus, angels will teach you after your life on earth is over and you move on to the spiritual world.
Then the scales will fall away from your eyes.
But it would be better if you accepted the truth here on earth.
