Q: What did the Muslim Turks wear in the Crusades?

user28114I'm not really sure what the Muslim Turks (or Saracens) wore during the Crusades. Did they all wear leather tunics or was it different according to rank?

Q: Jesus (as) didn't relax Jewish food laws as Islam understands did he?

user25174I read that Jews believe that when the Messiah comes he will allow pig and other food which is forbidden to them. Jesus the Messiah has already come and he confirmed the Law of Moses (Qur'an and Matthew 5:17-20) not abolished / relaxed it. Further, when he returns as a follower of Islam (and not ...

For those of us who believe in the literal flood and ark, what is the rebuttal to this article?

@Piomicron I don't believe the Flood happened exactly as described in Genesis, but even so, many of the objections raised in that article can be resolved, however unsatisfactorily, by either "God did it" or "God told Noah".

@El'endiaStarman But why would they lose all knowledge of seafaring once the flood was over? Noah and his offspring lived for hundreds of years afterwards, and even if God told them in the first place, why would they go on to forget?
Well, for one, I said "many", not "all". Also, the last Saturn V rocket launched in 1973, 44 years ago, and yet it's basically impossible to build another one today. Has been for a while. We simply lost too much of the technical knowledge, blueprints, manufacturing processes, etc to do it again without essentially redeveloping it all.

I read a fascinating article a while ago about reconstructing the F-1 rocket engine that was used in the Saturn V: arstechnica.com/science/2013/04/…
As another example, I have in my possession a 2001 game CD (Age of Mythology). I can't play it on Windows 10 because the DRM technology changed in the intervening 16 years. This is actually the biggest problem with long-term data storage: losing the means to access, interpret, and understand that data.
Anyway, a general rule of thumb is that there are always counter-arguments to every point. Personally, I believe you need more justification than it's worth to believe in a literal Flood as described in Genesis.

@Piomicron What would have been the necessity for them to pass on any knowledge of ark building to their descendants? There are many instances where specific knowledge of artifact creation has not been transmitted once necessity is removed. (eg pyramids, stone circles).
