@El'endiaStarman I didn't know that!
@LeakyNun This would be an excellent question to ask at Hermeneutics.SE, that's the whole purpose of the site!

@curiousdannii Oh no, what have I done.

Q: "All" Scripture?

Still Crows2 Timothy 3:16 says - "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness..." Certainly the New Testament wasn't available to the writer at the time, and most likely he'd not seen any of the letters therein....

Can we reopen this?

Q: Grammatically, is 2 Timothy 3:16-17 inclusive or exclusive?

Leaky NunThis closely related question has an answer that tries to argue in a theological point of view. However, I would like to discuss this topic from a purely grammatical perspective.

@LeakyNun I've voted to reopen it, but note that it is pretty much a duplicate of this one, and should therefore be closed as a duplicate of it:

Q: What does "scripture" mean in NT writing?

MatthewThis is slightly a take-off from: What does it mean that all scripture is God-Breathed? The Bible as we know it today wasn't canonized and compiled into a single volume until much later. In particular, I am concerned with the reference to all scripture being "God-breathed" (inspired) in 2 Timot...

@curiousdannii We can now edit the links that appear in the "duplicate" box at the top of a question. So if you think another question should be listed as a duplicate in addition to or instead of, feel free to flag a moderator.

@Nathaniel Oh, I didn't know that! Will do next time
@Nathaniel Should I flag this one too so that it will go through to the whole mod team?

@curiousdannii No need; I can take a look now.
I've updated that; now the "What does 'scripture'..." question is listed first.

Q: How can we have a duplicate of an unclear question?

bruised reedThis situation is very fishy: Catholic restricted from Communion has been closed as a duplicate of Catholic baptized in another church which itself has been closed as an unclear question. It's true that the OP has had two goes at asking the same question. The second iteration is far more clear ...

@LeakyNun Circumcision is mentioned in a number of my articles, especially the ones refuting justification by faith alone. But there is no article whose primary subject is circumcision.
@LeakyNun For the ones mentioning circumcision see these search results.

@LeeWoofenden ok thanks

Q: Does my doctrinal stance have to align with anyone to post on here?

The ElectI've noticed a lot of questions about Catholicism. Is this a catholic Website? I don't agree with Catholics or Protestants or Mormons ot Jehovah Witnesses. If I post views different from the above with many scriptural references, will the posts be deleted?
