@user basically just, do u have any arguments against the notion of the world being 5781 years old, if it was miraculously created that way
10:38
yes
thats the opening state mint
Prove it.
its in the torah, that was / is passed down by millions of Jews , over thousands of years, claiming to be witnessed by millions of direct ancestors, and accepted by most/many other major non jewish religions as well
re bud all?
A proof is sufficient evidence or a sufficient argument for the truth of a proposition. The concept applies in a variety of disciplines, with both the nature of the evidence or justification and the criteria for sufficiency being area-dependent. In the area of oral and written communication such as conversation, dialog, rhetoric, etc., a proof is a persuasive perlocutionary speech act, which demonstrates the truth of a proposition. In any area of mathematics defined by its assumptions or axioms, a proof is an argument establishing a theorem of that area via accepted rules of inference starting...
lol
ok here's the proof
the claim is that it was witnessed by millions of direct ancestors, who are claimed to be the direct ancestors of all of the Jews living today. If it was a false claim, that means at some point an entire population of people would have had to have been convinced that their own ancestors saw something that they really didn't.
The thing is, that is not something that people can accept in general, imagine someone walkt up 2 you and said 'hey, your ggreat grandfather just saw a magical flying pony', no one would b leave u
10:44
the biggest proof for this is that there is no other group in the world that even attempts to claim that the ancestors of the same people that follow it are the ones who dreictly witnessed it, everything else claims only a few people saw it
so the fact that this is the only thing that even attempts to claim something, with a claim substantiated oer thousands of years, should be enough proof that it is true
since if it were false, there should be many other false, similar claims
but the reality is there are no other simmilar claims, even though it would b in their best interests (of other religions) to make them
That doesn't make it "true"
nothing makes anything "true" but its an indication that tilts it over the status quo of being false
meaning there's no scientific way to know anything is really true
but the best we can do is show that its more likely to be true than false
for example, the existence of george washington
Scientists use experience
10:46
many people will accept it as absolute fact, even though he could have been made up as part of a large conspiracy
Experiment
Your senses
experiments only work regarding things that can be tested, history is not one of those thigns though
you cant re-experience history
you can only see the remnants of what we have now
to indicate and suggest what may have happened in the past
for example, the existence of george washington
his existence is substantiated by multiple sources, newspapers, personal accounts etc
10:48
its possible that those were all made up as part of an elaborate conspiracy, but its not scientifically considered likely enough to be a valid alternative to the reality of his existence
Yes, recorded history
similarly, the Torah with all of its details including the talmud etc has been passed down by parent to child oer direct, documented generations, with documented personal accounts and family trees and lists of teachers to students and notes and other influence in the world
if one were to claim that it all started from a few people convincing other people to brainwash their own children for a few generations until eeryone belieed their own ancestors experienced an entire history they really hadn't, I mean, its possible, but it goes against the general scientific method of determining how history is passed down
Who verified these claims?
similarly to how its "possible" for all the newspapers etc about george washing to have been made up
@user6232128 which claims
Any claim
10:51
@user6232128 such as
Did scientists verify it?
eeryones a scientist deep down
what kind of verification would be accepted
Who was the judge?
different people , depends on the specific claim
See, you need a theory to tie things together
10:53
what things
which things need to be tied together
I am confused:)
what do u mean
You say the world is flat.
no i dont
I say no
10:54
thats a misconception,
in general the flat earthers try to take their ideas from the torah, but according to the torah in arious sources in the talmud and zohar, it is round like a ball

Prove it.
lol
prove what exactly
Any claim must be proven.
yes, but which claim is in question at the moment
is the earlier proof not sufficient?
Legendary stories are not proof.
10:57
I agree :)
Experiments are proof.
experiments dont work for history though
history cant be repeated
(except metaphorically)
The laws of nature worked in the past.
ok
possibly
but how can we use them to test history
What are we testing for?
11:00
thats my question :)
:-)
cya, pal
the proof from earlier is essentially, that if something has been directly passed down in a thoroghly documented line, unchanging for thousands of years, its a good indication its strue
ok cya..

Sounds like Christianity and the Bible ...
user486313
Does the bible conflict with the Torah in any way? I'm curious ...
