First: Congratulations on reaching 100k!
The system sends an automated email when people reach that milestone and we are sending automated emails via stackoverflow.email now. Your screenshot it looks like the email we send. I don't have access to the email logs at the moment, but I think you can...
Hello guys, when I connect android phone with PC through USB cable, and choose option "Charging-only" mode, does it helps charging fast as compared to "File Transfer mode"?
Bit of an influx of spam; MetaSmoke is down atm and Smokey instances are being shuffled around
Also, any thoughts about the odd edit review behaviour I saw? I'm happy to chalk it up to experience, but equally happy to post something on Meta if applicable
Not sure it can be demonstrated beyond me saying that I saw something different from what the review history page now shows is why I hesitate; à la wontfix: can't replicate
@JourneymanGeek Makes sense! I have a feeling it was related to the sequence of events and hopefully won't recur, but I now wonder if it is 'silently' happening. Will keep an eye on edit comment vs edit effects mismatch and similar!
@JourneymanGeek . . . I just noticed this answer by David Postill . . . Seems similar and like one of those horrible plagiarism type scenarios you banned me for. . . Just FYI since you are pro-neutrality...
Is there any functionality within chrome or is there an extension available that allows image opened in chrome tab to be set as desktop background without actually downloading it, just like Firefox allows.
@TroubleMakerChatBroom Please read superuser.com/help/referencing. I correctly quoted a single paragraph from the linked web page.
> When you find a useful resource that can help answer a question (from another site or in an answer on Super User) make sure you do all of the following:
Provide a link to the original page or answer Quote only the relevant portion
And
> Do not copy the complete text of external sources
Can't tell whether this is spam or a user overly enthusiastic about a product. superuser.com/users/224523/nuke1010 posted 5 answers recommending the same product in under an hour. In the first, it was added to an answer. Two are identical answers, and two are barely more than a comment with a link. Two showed up in a review queue.
The first one I came across in the review queue, I commented with a link to the Recommending software Meta post. That answer was deleted rather than beefing it up.
@Ramhound That was harsher than necessary. You only need to politely indicate that the user's in the wrong room.
@William It looks like you're in the wrong room. This room is for stuff that requires moderator attention. For general computer discussion, use Root Access.
@JourneymanGeek, of course mods know all and see all! That's a criterion for becoming a mod. And if you don't have those characteristics innately, you get them via the mod super tools. Next you're going to claim there's no Santa Claus or Easter Bunny.
If I had written my own words, I might agree my tone could have been improved, but I literally copied the description of the room. In order to make it stand out (since the description was not read by the user), I decided to make it bold, the tone of the description did not change.
@Ramhound, the "tone" I was referring to was the wording of the first sentence; could be seen as "accusatory". Political correctness and sensitivity -- gotta love it.
Anyways could somebody delete those two messages, problem solved.
Spam: https://superuser.com/questions/1361702/i-build-a-website-in-wordpress-it-looks-great-in-chrome-but-skewed-in-internet If not spam, it's out of scope, and if not out of scope it's unanswerable given the details provided.
I've had to deal with users who sometimes exhibit some of the qualities of a help vampire on chat, some of which are unique to Stack Exchange.
They barge in and ask questions. Sometimes they randomly ping people demanding answers. Chat's a place they figure they can get answers right now.
Somet...
