Wait... community-support@stackoverflow.email? Where did team@stackexchange.com go?
Is this a direct replacement for the latter? If I need to contact Stack Exchange by email, is this new community-support address preferred?

@bwDraco I SEEM to recall they all point at the same place now
lemme check?
erm
seems wrong
where did you find this?

Above image.

Ok, AS I UNDERSTAND THIS, and I could be horribly wrong....
ah!

Asking on TL?

So, stackoverflow.email is for automated mail

A: Does Stack Exchange send emails related to swag?

Jon EricsonFirst: Congratulations on reaching 100k! The system sends an automated email when people reach that milestone and we are sending automated emails via stackoverflow.email now. Your screenshot it looks like the email we send. I don't have access to the email logs at the moment, but I think you can...

6:32 AM
Hmm...

If you need to contact the team, the old emails or the contact us link still work

So, I should continue to use team@stackexchange.com?

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks.

The stackoverflow.email addresses are likely (and this is to the best of my understanding ) only for automated mails

6:50 AM
I mean, I don't work here so I could be wrong ;p
But its hardly TL level super secret squirrel classified ;)

Hello guys, when I connect android phone with PC through USB cable, and choose option "Charging-only" mode, does it helps charging fast as compared to "File Transfer mode"?

Probably not
But you can check ;)
Also, tooootallyyy not what this room is for

Bit of an influx of spam; MetaSmoke is down atm and Smokey instances are being shuffled around
Also, any thoughts about the odd edit review behaviour I saw? I'm happy to chalk it up to experience, but equally happy to post something on Meta if applicable
Not sure it can be demonstrated beyond me saying that I saw something different from what the review history page now shows is why I hesitate; à la wontfix: can't replicate

@bertieb I think it's worth bringing up if it happens again
@bertieb might want to mention that in RA

11:14 AM
@JourneymanGeek Makes sense! I have a feeling it was related to the sequence of events and hopefully won't recur, but I now wonder if it is 'silently' happening. Will keep an eye on edit comment vs edit effects mismatch and similar!
@JourneymanGeek Good suggestion, will do :)

Not sure it's spam
Highly biased and opinioned yes
Will have a look at network posts
Nothing that jumps out as a red flag

@JourneymanGeek . . . I just noticed this answer by David Postill . . . Seems similar and like one of those horrible plagiarism type scenarios you banned me for. . . Just FYI since you are pro-neutrality...

Q: Set image as desktop background without downloading it in Google Chrome

ViswanathIs there any functionality within chrome or is there an extension available that allows image opened in chrome tab to be set as desktop background without actually downloading it, just like Firefox allows.

I don't gloat by the way, I clarified for others that left remarks after I left my first one and only message starting that dialogue here

@TroubleMakerChatBroom yup. We have had words about it already

:)
I was banned for it... Neutrality
:)

You were suspended. Other people have been too.
It's just how it works
I can't suspend a fellow mod but we have had very civil words on the subject... Cc @DavidPostill :)

@TroubleMakerChatBroom Please read superuser.com/help/referencing. I correctly quoted a single paragraph from the linked web page.
> When you find a useful resource that can help answer a question (from another site or in an answer on Super User) make sure you do all of the following:

Provide a link to the original page or answer
Quote only the relevant portion
And
> Do not copy the complete text of external sources

Can't tell whether this is spam or a user overly enthusiastic about a product. superuser.com/users/224523/nuke1010 posted 5 answers recommending the same product in under an hour. In the first, it was added to an answer. Two are identical answers, and two are barely more than a comment with a link. Two showed up in a review queue.
The first one I came across in the review queue, I commented with a link to the Recommending software Meta post. That answer was deleted rather than beefing it up.

9:26 PM
Sounds like spam

9:37 PM
is there a way to save the state of process id's between reboot?
linux/unix

9:57 PM
Why are you asking that question in here instead of Root Access where here are more people.
For moderation, spam, troublesome users and related issues you need diamond input on. This room is NOT for Tech Support

@Ramhound That was harsher than necessary. You only need to politely indicate that the user's in the wrong room.
@William It looks like you're in the wrong room. This room is for stuff that requires moderator attention. For general computer discussion, use Root Access.

yyeah asked over there now
I had to many windows open
even asked a question

10:50 PM
@fixer1234 gonna lean towards 'hey I found this neat thing and I can answer everything and get all the reputation!'
@Ramhound cause they assume mods know all and see all....

@JourneymanGeek, of course mods know all and see all! That's a criterion for becoming a mod. And if you don't have those characteristics innately, you get them via the mod super tools. Next you're going to claim there's no Santa Claus or Easter Bunny.

@bwDraco - I asked an honest question. I don't see how I was harsh. I then proceeded to copy the current description of this room.

@fixer1234 I hate to break this to you but.... :p
Also - it's worth remembering our unwritten policy on asking questions on RA

But I saw Santa Claus run over my grandmother.

@Ramhound, tone and bolding. It can make the post look a little harsh. bwDraco's version is "softer". :-)

11:02 PM
Except, the tone of the description, is not mine.

If you're on chat just to ask questions people are gonna get annoyed

Bolding text, to highlight something, does not change the tone.

Actually it's a bit shouty when you do that

@Ramhound, it can be viewed that way, a little like using all caps.

If I had written my own words, I might agree my tone could have been improved, but I literally copied the description of the room. In order to make it stand out (since the description was not read by the user), I decided to make it bold, the tone of the description did not change.

11:06 PM
@Ramhound, the "tone" I was referring to was the wording of the first sentence; could be seen as "accusatory". Political correctness and sensitivity -- gotta love it.

You specifically called out the bolding.....
Anyways could somebody delete those two messages, problem solved.
Spam: https://superuser.com/questions/1361702/i-build-a-website-in-wordpress-it-looks-great-in-chrome-but-skewed-in-internet
If not spam, it's out of scope, and if not out of scope it's unanswerable given the details provided.

@Ramhound, yeah, bolding the quote after the tone of the first sentence kinda reinforced the perception. No big deal.

I want to respond, but it would be negative, so i won't.
In the future, I will just post the room description

11:23 PM
Or just ignore them :p
I can grump at them at my leisure

Q: What's a kinder way to stake a help vampire?

Journeyman GeekI've had to deal with users who sometimes exhibit some of the qualities of a help vampire on chat, some of which are unique to Stack Exchange. They barge in and ask questions. Sometimes they randomly ping people demanding answers. Chat's a place they figure they can get answers right now. Somet...

Still a work in progress but the answers are worth a read
