So, it turns out this guy was not just targeting Adriane.
I have honestly never seen this sort of conduct before. I'll be watching closely tomorrow night once the suspension expires. This is very odd behavior.
I'm very surprised that such a seemingly well-behaved user would suddenly start engaging in stalking behavior...
@JourneymanGeek: Your thoughts on what I can do to help in situations like this? I was AFK when this happened.
I think the gentle caliberated warnings that @DavidPostill did were handy, but at the end of the day, you needed someone who could decide and act on whether enough was enough.
Although I'm notably less impulsive than I used to be, I still lack the soft skills you have. Hence, I took this event as a opportunity to learn, even though I wasn't there when it happened ;)
Thanks for your advice and I'll be on the lookout when the suspension expires.
My biggest issue is still a tendency to respond impulsively to issues. One of the skills here is to learn to respond in a controlled fashion when something happens; it's been improving but is not yet anywhere near a ♦ standard.
Hey guys, I was just in the process of building a NAS with Debian and setting up Samba and so on, and I came across FreeNAS out of nowhere and it looks really promising, does anyone have any experiences or opinions they could share about it?
@DavidPostill naw. More like you were handling it fine - I was on my phone, and If it was escalating fast enough, I could mod-up, switch over to desktop mode and smack him with a suspension.
I gave the guy his warning between when I came back and lunch. He didn't seem to want to improve his behaviour.
So, not quite a test, more like carefully caliberated laziness timing.
@DavidPostill typically sunday mornings are dog park days (so I'm kinda just poking in periodically) and afternoons I usually game with qux and bob, so if there's an emergency, pinging me works, I'll just switch my second screen to my linux box if needed.
