I don't think it's helpful in this convo by denigrating an international organization with top scientists and medical experts there.
New York Times helped perpetuate that masks were ineffective too, by reiterating medical experts' advice in US: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/29/health/coronavirus-n95-face-masks.html
There was overwhelming consensus among the scientific community and medical experts that masks would be ineffective.

@JonathanReez Hmm, the more I understand about Coronavirus, the more I think herd community isn't good. When you catch COVID-19, even after recovering from it, you will still suffer from long-term complications. Not sure if it's permanent or what, but it definitely isn't cool. If I'm not wrong, you even have brain damage after recovering from COVID-19.

@XPMai masks have been worn back during the 1918 pandemic. What knowledge did the scientific community gain between January 2020 and April 2020 that wasn't available in the preceding 102 years?
Bashing and denigrating the WHO is absolutely appropriate on the topic of masks. They screwed up big time. I would rather be banned from this site than silence myself on this
If Fauci and the WHO suggested masks back in January (along with Trump and other world leaders), we wouldn't have today's anti mask movement
@XPMai I now personally know at least 10 people and indirectly know around 40 people who have had COVID, including a few hospitalisations and a death
