I got a delivery today:
01:54
@XanderHenderson: great painting! And hidden behind is a large bookshelf. So maaany books
02:04
@amWhy: Hello! I did take a note of MO elections from the day nominations started. However at that time there was only one candidate (Asaf) who was well known. Then I read the questionnaire of a few more candidates. The entry of Pedro was bit of a surprise and I guess he arrived in CURED also at the same time.
Given 3 positions, there are good chances of Asaf making it. However his questionnaire has been heavily downvoted (I can't see vote counts on posts there, but gathered this from comments in that thread). Do check out the candidates and their questionnaire.
@ParamanandSingh Those are mostly my father's books.
I wish I knew what to do with them. :\
@ParamanandSingh The painting is a gift to my mother, from myself and my four brothers and sisters.
My father really liked hummingbirds (he had multiple feeders on the back porch, and tracked their migration over the spring and summer).
I must say the painting looks really nice and it is quite large in size.
It is very large. But my mother has a really good spot for it in her house.
I also got a piece for myself (from the same artist):
I put it up so that it is in the background while I teach.
02:25
@XanderHenderson: funny caption "teach me my history" and you have got even more books than your father had.
It isn't really a "funny" caption. The artist is a White Mountain Apache woman. The US has a rather... poor... track record in its dealings with indigenous peoples. I live in a place where most of my students are native (Dine, Hope, and While Mountain Apache), hence I am the outsider here.
The print is a good reminder of that.
@XanderHenderson: sorry I wasn't aware of these things.
@ParamanandSingh No reason that you should be. :)
And I see that you have book called "Mathematics made difficult".
@ParamanandSingh It took five years to find a copy of that book for less than $1000
02:32
Wow!! I checked on wiki that it gives proofs using advanced math for simple results.
Yup.
It is one of the best joke books ever written. :D
Though it seems to have a certain love for category theory, which is a little unfortunate. :P
And what's that Nevada fractal? Did you get it as a part of your PhD in fractals?
That was my license plate when I lived in Nevada.
M'kay, I'm going to go downstairs; mix some grapefruit juice, orange juice, and tequila; make something to eat; then go to bed. It is time for my week to be over.
Ok nice. Go enjoy your cocktail and sleep

GENIUS
ISLE
@ParamanandSingh Nice, I'm glad you noticed I'm a genius! ;P
Isle rhymes with file even though not ending in ile
@amWhy: I bet you are! That's one of the reasons I hang out in this room. Good chance to interact with genius people
@ParamanandSingh True. I was just thinking what sounds like ending in "ile".
SILENT
@ParamanandSingh SUIT, SUITE
15:16
Good ones
FUEL
GLUT (Overeat, glutton).
@ParamanandSingh Your "flute" got me thinking of words using U,
@ParamanandSingh Or, "the glut in the fuel market" (excess)
Also, abbreviation people use for the butt muscles: GLUTES, and there's GLUTEN
...Thankfully, PUTIN doesn't belong here, though it rhymes with GLUTEN! ;D
UNIT, UNITE
GENIE in the bottle
@ParamanandSingh Love it!
GLUE
15:26
SILT, SLIT

STING
OOPS my link was old. I tried to copy the definition of "SEINE"
@ParamanandSingh Nice one!
TINGE, TINGLE
Probably we should add SING and SINGLE
No H, else I'd suggest SINGH , and HINGE
15:34
Cool I did not think of it. Really forgetful of my own name.
Oh, how'd we forget the importance of LIFE?
Yup, when searching for complex words we miss the obvious
@ParamanandSingh aha, spot on!
@XanderHenderson How is it SO HUGE?
@user21820: h is not there but FUSE
15:39
@ParamanandSingh I was replying to Xander's painting. Not a new word.
We've got an L and a Y which suggest we can crank out some adverbs... GENTLY, FINELY, STINGILY (STINGY too of course), NIFTILY (and NIFTY)...
Wow at @Joffan
@Joffan INFINiTY
SILTY
@amWhy even enough Is to give it the full set, INFINITY

15:56
@amWhy I FEELIN' U STINGY (with letter variety)
NEST, STEIN
@user21820 Hahaha! =P
Every time you give us words that have too many of some letters but not enough others! =P
@user21820 This game should not be a cake walk!! =P. We need to train on all combinations of vowels, and words with K, Y, J, etc!! ;D Then we can take on any SE site, in a challenge!! ;D
Rah RAh, TEAM Math.SE!!
16:15
Anagram : GUY IS IN FILE TEN
@amWhy Just FINITELY GENIUS =P
NINETY UGLIFIES. (Purely accidental; I wasn't trying to find a gloomy anagram!)
GLISTEN, LISTEN
@ParamanandSingh Very Nice!
And, @ParamanandSingh, your most recent two.
16:24
Even i dont know how glisten came to my mind
@ParamanandSingh Like dew on a leaf.
Very artistic and natural @user21820
I wanted to post "UGLY INFINITE SE", but SE isn't infinite (yet) so it doesn't seem right.
Now you know how I got to "UGLIFIES"...
@ParamanandSingh I'm a poet not paid.
=D
@user21820 I need to find a word(s) from which I could find STUCKEXCHANGE!
@amWhy Ok so we reverse anagram that one!
16:30
@user21820 Haha! I'm game. It would certainly be formable through UGLY STACKEXHANGE
Has it become that ugly? We need to restore it back to when it was beautiful
@ParamanandSingh Not yet either. That's why I didn't post it. =P
But STUCK is often the case.
2
Many PSQs mention that they are stuck, but don't point out exactly where they are stuck. Damn!
What can we do in terms of TUNE UP STUCKEXCHANGE
@amWhy GENTS CHUCK AXE
2
Finally found one.
16:35
@ParamanandSingh A STUCK network encourages (or enables) PSQ's + "I'm stuck".
@user21820 Nice reverse anagram!! :D
16:56
Hello, am a little busy on CURED duty, will take part tomorrow, thanks all!
@TeresaLisbon I'm busy making a list now too.
@user21820 Great! I'm hoping for an easier ride than yesterday.
@TeresaLisbon No problem! ;D
@amWhy Hey, yes, was hoping to participate today but something averse has caught my attention, and as much as I love words, I'll have to postpone this fancy to the morrow!
(by averse, yes, I mean for CURED purposes)
@TeresaLisbon No problem... there will always be word games! None of us can make them all! And even I was remiss at times on making it more regular. Happy Friday, though soon it will be Saturday for you, So Happy Saturday, in advance!
17:11
@amWhy Yes, 100 minutes left for Saturday, the 10th.Four days for Tamil new year, and the jangri photo!
17:31

Whose got GUTS on this site?
Has anyone mentioned GUST or FIST yet??
18:49
@amWhy who has the GUNS?
I'll leave for now. See you
@quid Those with GUTS don't need GUNS! See You!
FLIRT FLIRTY, FLINT (Apologies if the last word is a dupe).
FLIER
@quid RIFLE
@amWhy now I know why you don't need a gun ;D
@quid Shhh STIFLE yourself! Shhhh! ;D
INUIT
@amWhy: RIFLE gives us two more words: RIFE, RILE and further STRIFE, STERILE
19:00
@quid Nice.
@ParamanandSingh Great finds!
@amWhy thanks, really leaving now.
@ParamanandSingh With words like RIFE and RILE and STRIFE, are you trying to STIR up trouble?? ;P
What more trouble can we have than the fact this site is rife with PSQs
@ParamanandSingh Hahaha! Good response!
19:06
@ParamanandSingh Nice!
Btw i did not notice all those recent words including rifle had R.
@ParamanandSingh OMG Yes, you are right. I know when I need to take a break from these games when I start introducing a new letter in a word!!
@amWhy: no problem, things like these happen. Luckily there is no penalty in this word game. :D
My last five words, and my words influenced your words. Glad you caught that!! ;D
@amWhy: I am now going to doze off. Bye and take care.
19:11
Or, Isn't it INGENUITY FLIERS?? ;D
@ParamanandSingh Indeed! Sleep well! I hope you can sleep in tomorrow!
