@Aaron I think fire gives off CO2, not CO, but I flunked chemistry

@BMitch depends on the available level of oxygen.
if enough oxygen is available it will make more CO2 and less CO, if not it will mostly just make CO and may not make any CO2 at all (the carbon bonds with the oxygen, and prefers 2, but if enough carbon is vaporized it will make CO if it has to). I think that's right, but Chem was a while ago.

Yes, @Tester101, I completely stole your list format :)
@BMitch You're not supposed to lead with the funny.
I always lead with the funny, it distracts people from my lack of good answers.
The format should be...
Normal
Normal
Normal
Funny
Normal
WTF?

@maple_shaft NEC 110.3(B) + this line from these instructions "For installation by a qualified electrician only", makes it not up to code if a non-qualified Electrician installed it.

@lsiunsuex Jesus. Some people have way too much money.
Especially when they'll be 500 in three years.
no, sooner i think - rumor has it they want mass production by the end of the year - and few will buy it > $300 i think
$300 will be my cutoff anyways for a product like this
@ChrisCudmore I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't someone buying for personal use, rather something like a media company buying to review it or a developer to build something with it, or even a competitor to build a knock-off
its been removed :( so either it was fake or google got pissed
15:28
google is currently selling them for $1500 to select folks who tweet about good ideas to use them
@waxeagle seen that - not spending $1500 on it, no matter how cool i think it is
not for me either
but my new toy will be here in a few months: leapmotion.com/press_releases/…
screw the photo taking and video taking - i want it to show css syntax or ability to quickly look up programming syntax, or directions, or etc... i'd have many uses for it, but not at 1500
@lsiunsuex that would be awesome
that leap motion thing is pretty cool
wonder what it can actually pick up and interpret - to many times, i've given the screen the middle finger cause something pissed me off
15:36
@lsiunsuex depending on where it's pointed, it will pick that up :). just preprogram that gesture to a lolcat or something :)
good point :)
what I'm probably going to use it for mostly is touchscreen emulation. although I may play with programming a thing or two for it just for fun
16:14
was it really the kids fault though ? i mean, no backup of the DB made in 2 months, developing on a live database
the company had it coming - it could of happened to anyone - the ceo to the lowest programmer

Ha ha! Supreme Court of Canada affirms my right to ridicule you!
@ChrisCudmore people in general? or 'mericans specifically?
People in general. But also identifiable groups.
Basically a Westboro Baptist Hate Speech case.
The words “ridicules, belittles or otherwise affronts the dignity of” in s. 14(1)(b) are also constitutionally invalid because they do not minimally impair freedom of expression. "
But saying Gays should be [Whatever] is still hate speech.
Just because you're butthurt doesn't mean I committed a crime.
@ChrisCudmore The Second Amendment, gives me the right to say "Go ahead, make my day"
But the conservatives are all up in arms over "OMG! Freedom of Speech is Dead"
The Liberals are up in arms over "But this lets mean people be mean"
So all in all, a balanced decision.
@ChrisCudmore sounds about like our interpretation of free speech here.
17:37
@lsiunsuex that's why I don't want root or R/W access to any really important database
17:48
The main difference is in the opening of the constitution.
1. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.
Which makes an enumerated right explicitly subject to justifiable limits.

Q: Newbie concernes, how to screw with a drill?

user11801I bought a Bosch PSB 650 RE Impact Drill and I have some question about how to use it for screwing. I know it's not it's primary function but for a few screws here and there it should work. I have a magnetic adapter with a bit perfect for the screws, the drill has a variable speed control from th...

SNORT
"How do I use my impact drill for screwing?"
"WITH EXTREME CARE!!!"

"most tools" are designed to get the shit beat out of them - i'm sure its fine to pull the trigger just a little harder

1 hour later…
@ChrisCudmore Where do the screwdrivers come in?
The tools should be hammer and meat grinder.
@Tester101 assembling the grinder
you need the screw driver to mount the grinder to the talble
21:46
so I want a mouse that has the scroll wheel detent wheeling, not freewheeling
this new one is driving me nuts, I always overshoot, and it's way too fast
