@waxeagle SE's UI sucks, I'm not getting the migrate window when I go to close it, it just closes immediately. I'm guessing I hit the time limit for migrating questions so we're stuck with this.

The most popular solution to this to date has been to reset votes on migrated posts. This is do-able, but frankly it feels like treating a symptom, and doing so in a way that penalizes folks who answer what are by all ap...

@waxeagle haha, my documentation technique is to delete all the useless comments from India developers and replace the code with something slightly more readable (and more importantly, functional) making any comments unnecessary. :)

@lsiunsuex I've never been massively shocked, but I got zapped pretty good a couple of times at my first job. And that was just changing flourescent bulbs
it was last year while remodeling the master bedroom - there was an armored cable running from the wall to under the floor (re: ballon framing) and it tested dead twice - once with my fluke and another with that little wand thing that makes a noise and lights up - apparently that wasn't a good enough test haha - so between the gloves and fiber glass electrical tools, i got just a jolt, not a full blown need to be kicked to let go of the wire
the fluke was a strait up line meter - so i had contact - apparently not good enough though - but yeah - now i test like 12 times anywhere i think the line is attached
1 more bedroom and the entire house will have updated electrical so i got 1 more shot at bad luck haha
@lsiunsuex yeah, I'm pretty fanatical about testing bofore I touch. Need to get a multimeter instead of the little light bulb checker I've got right now....and I think a non-contact tester is on my christmas list.
i don't normally buy tools, but when i do, i buy fluke.

think i'm gonna go find my heat gun and strip the wood trim in the bathroom this weekend, prime and paint - one of the only rooms we never did that still has old trim.
theres a window in the shower (with privacy film) and the paint is chipped and i think something is growing on it
when we remodel the bathroom, gonna reduce the height of the window by half or 2/3rds so water doesn't hit it so much and glass block the top i think
it says batteries included/required, and on klein it has a section in the description about the batteries, so I guess it's all about who enters the descriptions

The camera, after a few days of drying out, actually survived and work...
so... if getting it repaired is going to cost me > $400 i may as well try to do it myself? cause i'm sure as hell not paying that much for a repair when she bought it on ebay for $500 used

You can’t expect the breadth of experience within a retail position to be great enough to qualify you to work at corporate campuses anywhere, really. Develop your skills outside of work.
so closer to being in retail gives you no leg up cause your apart of the company already than to go it outside of it
but still - a sales rep at a pharm company can become district manager - a salesman at apple retail has no path to corporate

@lsiunsuex it's small (1000ish undergrads), it's mostly white, it's nearly entirely conservative protestants (you have to write a testimony as part of your admissions application) and it's mostly southerners. Not a good place for the few black students this week.
Thankfully it sounds like the student development office, the chaplain and his office and the two black professors there are all involved with coming up with a solution. Hopefully its a learning experience for the whole campus.

we were actually talking about this in one of the Christianity site chat rooms earlier today. Because of huffingtonpost.com/richard-stearns/… it's an article by a Christian about how all of the striving to get religious symbols up in public places is a severe distraction from what we're supposed to be doing (helping the poor and needy etc etc).
One of our users went as far as to call that stuff a perversion of the gospel and I agree.
So... Just had a visit from a GE service tech, who said appliances still trip GFCI's from time to time. Me: "I thought appliances and GFCI's were made better now, and the problem was gone?". GE Tech: "Whoever told you that, lied to you.".
That was the other thing. He said "Why don't you just use a regular receptacle?", to which I responded "um... Because the NEC says it has to be GFCI.".
"Oh, really?" he said. "Yeah, since like 2008." I said.

@waxeagle They only have to be GFCI if they are added or replaced after the code was adopted.
But I just added it last year, when I bought the freezer.
@waxeagle I'm pretty sure it's all receptacles in the basement, i'd have to read the section again to be sure. I know in a garage they weren't required above a certain height, but I think that changed in 2011 or maybe 2008.
@Tester101 gotcha, our basement was re-done in '06 and none of the outlets are GFCI, but they are all at Chest height or so which makes me wonder (but then our bathrooms don't have them and I don't know why)
@waxeagle Also, don't forget. It's based on when the code was adopted in your area. In 06, it might have been acceptable in your area to install non-GFCI receptacles.
I'm stopping at the Libertarian-Republican part, it makes no sense to me as a moderate libertarian. The Republican party keeps taking every attempt of a libertarian movement and claim it as their own. It may kill the movement and temporarily coopt some back into the party, but this election shows that they really aren't representing the country.

@BMitch I'd think the libertarian position would be pro-gay-marriage (or out of the marriage business altogether), Pro-Choice, and anti-abolition. Which is opposity of the Republican position.

The Canadian Electrical Code is not equal to the National Electrical Code. This does not mean that the Canadian Code is inferior; in fact, the Canadian Electrical Code has many requirements not found in the NEC: for instance, requirements for Cathodic Protection, Automobile Heater receptacles and clearances for cable trays. However, some requirements found in the NEC and rigidly enforced in Alaska are simply missing from the 1993 CEC.

@Aaron You didn't have to take the quiz to see the map. The map was of the entire nation, and very few people side with Romney, but a large chunk does side with Johnson. It makes me question why we have the current two parties, the Republicans need to throw in the towel and let the Libertarians take over.
@Aaron just for clarification, I didn't mean to imply have the Libertarians take over the country, but to take over as a second option to the Democrats. No one wants to vote for a bunch of old white guys that believe in things like "legitimate rape" for good reason.
And I do call myself a moderate libertarian with a little L because I don't believe in cutting everything that the party hardliners want to cut.
