Because ball point pens are gender biased
@TheEvilGreebo saw the reviews for this yesterday, too funny
my gay punk coworker is laughing her head off at this
The reviews are great! "I bought this pen (in error, evidently) to write my reports of each day's tree felling activities in my job as a lumberjack. It is no good. It slips from between my calloused, gnarly fingers like a gossamer thread gently descending to earth between two giant redwood trunks.

Q: How do I properly ventilate my pantry?

dole dougI live in a very old appartment which has a food pantry in the kitchen. The pantry has a wall outside and on that wall is a hole. What do I have to put in that hole in order to match with the pantry requirements?

I wasn't aware of any Pantry ventilation requirements.

Q: Why is my sump pump still beeping after I replaced the battery?

JakeMy sump pump battery monitor was beeping. I changed the battery because the message said that the battery was not working. Not 24 hours later the battery was beeping again! Do I need to do anything special since I just bought a marine battery from O'reilly auto parts store? Any help would be ...

@ChrisCudmore Maybe because they mentioned O'reilly auto parts?
Does a dog house have to be built to code?
Apparently, if you live in San Francisco it does.

@aarthi Package received. Thank you.
Quit talking about your package.

Q: What are the differences between "standard" BM Aura paint and the "Bath and Spa" variety?

Matthew PKWhat are the differences and pros/cons between the Benjamin Moore Aura Paint and the specially formulated Aura Bath & Spa Paint?

seems like a worthless question
Not totally, I've often wondered some of the differences in qualitative products
It's not an answerable question unless you have product formulas
he included links to the product info pages themselves

I'd accept a question on what to look for in paint for various applications, but brand specific questions don't work so well. Even if I didn't mind questions about brands, they change over time, making them less useful.
Is there already a Matte/semi-gloss question?
If I see another close vote or two, I'll jump in
One painter we went through pronounced 'matte' paint like 'mate'
that should have been a clue
you guys been watching the latest All American Handyman season?
no, what channel?
17:12
HGTV
The first test in the last episode was grade a stupid. 4 fixes in an hour but DON'T MAKE ENOUGH NOISE TO WAKE THE BABY (aka set off a noise sensor)
like WHAT mom is gonna have a handyman in the room with a sleeping baby while he's trying to work?
If they're <1m or so they can sleep through just about anything

A: How do I properly ventilate my pantry?

StevenI'm tempted to say that venting a pantry outside could be a bad idea as I imagine it would be a very attractive smell to rodents who will find their way in. You'd also be forcing conditioned air outside for no real reason which will just increase utility costs. As suggested in the answer by The...

That's the one I meant, with The Evil Greenbo
@Aaron man, deleted stuff is never interesting
Do you ever see juicy things with your mod powers, or is it people just posting RL contact info?
Everything I've seen is pretty boring
@Aaron not usually, it's usually just typos and stuff...
every once in a while someone will post their address in a picture or something, but nothing really exciting (flags are better sometimes)
but even the worst stuff people post is usually pretty tame
Convince me I need to make a DIY solution for a nursery cam monitor instead of buying an off-the-shelf one

I think we need a "Some-Genius" tag for questions regarding work done by others that we have inherited.
It would also allow us to take questions for the blooper reel.
@Aaron honestly as much as we've wanted a video monitor, an audio monitor works just fine
We barely had the need for an audio one. One twin woke up the other, and you could hear them halfway across town.
@ChrisCudmore lol, our baby's room is central in our house so it's really fairly unecessary for us as well
You don't miss it unless you've got Iron Maiden cranked up to 11.
@ChrisCudmore I like that idea lol

This question would be a perfect candidate: diy.stackexchange.com/questions/16344/…

Q: Why does the iPhone calling screen have letters under the numbers?

Senthil SivanathThe iPhone dialer has letters below the numbers. Why did Apple include them on this screen? In other phones it is used for T9 keyboard or contact search.

what next, people are going to ask why they call it 'dial' a phone?
21:42
I'm pretty sure most kids today have never seen a phone that has a physical rotary dial or a bell used for a ringer. One day their kids will read in history books why we have the words dial and ring.
