@Mazura I think removing a stuck bolt is something many DIYers will find useful. I can understand someone saying that a DIYers needs to know how to remove the bolt, not why heat works. If the community doesn't think it's on topic here, then I'm guessing a site like physics.SE might want it.

I was thinking of posting to physics, but thought it might be more interesting here.

Given the votes on the question, it seems to have a lot of interest

I wish I would have stated the question a bit better. As it seems there's 3 answers that are each "correct", depending on the situation. If it's a nut and bolt, Vladimir Cravero's answer is good. If there's corrosion holding the bolt in place, Ecnerwal's answer is good. If there's a non-corroded bolt in a solid hunk of metal, my answer's good.

Did we ever decide if questions about commercial electrical work is on topic?
I'm tempted to close this as off topic.
17:55
Commercial structures are usually off topic here, unless it can apply to a typical personal residence.
The eye-bolt inclines me to think it's meant to be hung from a chain like a giant's pocket watch. — BrownRedHawk 6 hours ago
I'm going to need a bigger pocket.

"Also, sometimes I just like to talk to myself." –@Tester101. "Don't believe everything you read on the internet." ;)
@Tester101 "For contractors and bla bla bla..." YES.
We cite residential code, why not commercial? Off-topic-ing it would shun our experts.
That being said, that question falls under the spew at them jargon law. And if you really want a VTC, it's not enough information.
@Mazura I cite electrical code, which applies to residential, commercial, and industrial. However, commercial electrical work is no place for DIY. I have no problem with professionals asking questions, but this is obviously not a professional.
Agreed.
But that has nothing to do with commercial work being on topic or not.
Vote to close as "if you don't know where you can run conduit, you shouldn't be doing commercial work".
Sure ;)
Do we have that?
It would be useful if we could have more custom close reasons, unfortunately we're stuck with what they give us.

'I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you stop painting the brick now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.'
LOL sorry; couldn't resist.
The close reason: go ask your inspector would shut it down right quick ;)
