A code generator *may* be a better way to write code, but a private code generator is a sure-fire way to write *unmaintainable* code. Very few commenters and answerers are addressing that point, and just assuming bad faith on the part of the client.

If the client agreed the code would not be maintainable there is no issue; but the fact that they seem to want to read it indicates at the very least a lack of communication early on.

If any dev is creating an application of the sort implied by the majority of people here, they may as well just deliver the binaries.
