Hi all
I posted a question, but it was flagged as off-topic (link here: https://diy.stackexchange.com/questions/207870/which-material-for-a-sink-bucket)
Now, I fail to understand why it is off-topic, and the replies I received on the subject are not 100% clear to me. In any case I'd try to reword the question to make it a better fit for the website. Do you think deleting the question and posting it again is acceptable or it is considered "rude"?

@frarugi87 The site's focus is home improvement. DIY is an unfortunate acronym that people confuse and post their hobby projects here.
