@MatthewPK Can you wire nut the grounds inside the box and run an additional short piece to the junction box screw?

@BMitch I could, I'd just prefer not to, as my crawlspace isn't a very comfortable space in which to work.
I would rather use ground clips, if needed
or I can crimp the ground wires together, easier than using nuts in this tight space

I've heard the rule "one screw, one wire" for things like breaker panels, wouldn't be surprised if the same rule applies elsewhere. I'm guessing all the electrical guys are gone for the day.
Ping @Tester101 so he can tell you to hire an electrician. :)
And I'm guessing the others will say "ask a question on the site"

@ChrisCudmore Hey, here's a crazy idea! That'd be a great QUESTION! ;)
There's a reason I didn't put Evil in my name, I at least attempt to help.

Q: What is electrical code for number of wires in a breaker?

Mark SchultheissUS, Georgia I am adding some new ciruits to add some additional outlets. The closest place is to run a wire to the main panel box. My question is, can I connect more than one wire to a breaker and still meet code or do I need to get a new breaker. Both the wires and plugs are the same rating ...

that's the view for the breaker side
just not sure how far that rule extends

A wiring book I have to hand says "Never place the ends of two wires under a single screw terminal. Instead use a pigtail wire"

Yeah, that's what I figured. I'll use a crimp splice on them, then.

1:10 AM
@MatthewPK It depends on the box and the screw. Some are rated for multiple conductors, most are not. However, as it's a ground, it's not likely that big of a deal. If it was a current carrying conductor I would say absolutely not, since a weak connection could lead to heating.

So what is Project Update Thursday?
I didn't see anything obvious on the blog.

2:24 AM
@JeremyW.Sherman It's our weekly get together when we try to talk about what projects we've been up to, but really anything goes. The schedule is in the room info and this history behind is can be found in various meta posts
@JeremyW.Sherman I'll make sure your meta question gets the attention of SE. I haven't seen it personally, but I'm probably on a different browser and different settings.

Q: In a Concrete and steel building, how do I jack up my basement apartment and isolate it from the rest of the building?

StonyI am living in a concrete and steel apartment building in Saint Louis, MO. The walls and floors of the first floor (read basement) are falling because they were built on the dirt in the basement before there was such a thing as wolmanizing of wood. At this point, I want to create a living space i...

Q: How do I measure the leg positions for a three-legged table with a circular top?

oscilatingcretinI am creating a three-legged stand for a monitor (not really a table, but whatever) and am not sure how to conduct the measurements so that all three legs are accurately spaced in an equilateral triangular shape such that the weight of whatever is sitting on top is evenly distributed over all thr...

So they've been working on the water mains in the street in preparation for a sidewalk project
and they caused a small cave-in on the street because they found a "log hole" where apparently 80 years ago when they were first levelling/grading the road/lots, they cut down some trees, dumped them in a hole, and then just covered it up with dirt

Trees buried under the road bed?

Did they find Jimmy Hoffa?

I'm not clear if it was in the road bed, or on the boundary of the road bed and a property line
