@amWhy 30 years ago I never misspelled "their" as "there". It has become way too frequent :-( Wish I knew why?

@XanderHenderson I know, I just wanted to know if the bit knew :-)

I think the election bit seems more of a distraction. A lot of the chat here is bit baiting, and anyway it pushes a readily available metric over the content of the candidates nominations.

I've never met any of the 6 candidates in Q&A, but their history is very impressive. Now looking at their top voted answers, if the answers would be useful to me if I asked the questions back then. Is that a right way to nominate?
15:32
@Babydesta No, because there are prolific content producers who are very unsuitable to be a moderator.

You'd have to read their election questionnaire answers to get an idea of their character and whether you think they are suitable or not for the moderator position, not whether you think they would produce good content. One does not need to be a moderator to produce good content, but one needs to be able to listen to the common users to be a good moderator.

@Babydesta There are more important factors to consider than "high-rep" earned by a user. Are they courteous? Do they show sportsmanship? Are they level-headed? Do they have experience reviewing posts, editing, and importantly, on meta.math.se? Are they a hot head, or do they tend to mediate? Etc., Earning lots of rep through answering is not equivalent to earning a strong Reputation as a calm, level-headed, user who is skilled at keeping the peace, who knows their way around this site, ...
...and has already demonstrated a willingness to spend time as a janitor on this site.
