@Tyberius I find this interesting: This question had at least 2 close votes the last time I checked, but now it has 0. I thought maybe this could be because 5 people clicked not to close it in the reviews, but when I looked at the Review Queue for Close Vote history, no one reviewed it after AloneProgrammer, who was one of the closer voters. No one voted to keep it open. So why did the votes go away?
I wonder whether or not it would be useful to design and construct a double-sided Whiteboard (i.e. the front and back sides can both be used)?
The cost of the Whiteboard product would increase, but would it be worth it for the increased functionality?
Maybe a moderator voted to leave it open and that caused it to stay open in the sense of a "hammer" ? Then wouldn't that vote also show up in the review queue history?
@NikeDattani It would show in the history of the review queue if anyone had voted to leave it open. This looks to be a case of close votes expiring: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/120896/…
Basically, if a question has >100 views (which this one just barely does), 1 close vote will age away every day, starting from 4 days after the last vote.
I suppose this means we don't have to worry about that thing you were concerned about earlier, where users are stuck in limbo of having their question partially closed or partially re-opened?
Where I was wondering what happened with the close votes, but I had just assumed that so many people had clicked "skip" or that they disagree with the close vote, that the close votes went away, but really what happened was that the votes expired.
I thought I saw some very old questions that still had close votes (months ago, not anymore), but maybe those had more than 100 views and it took up to 16 days for all the votes to go away.
