why does changing the composition of a detonating mixture change the intensity of the explosion?
i mean it does kinda make sense
ideally you would want the reactants to be in such proportions that they are consumed entirely and there's no excess reagent left
but then there should be only one recommended composition for any mixture like, say, gunpowder
but since morning i have found around half a dozen different recommended compositions for gunpowder alone
just why??
why not just 1 ideal composition, devised by looking at the molar masses of the reactants and the stoichiometry of the reaction, to maximize the yield?
if anyone has any insight on this, please help me out

@Arjun You know, the more germs in your throat, the more forcefully you'll cough.
An explosion works the same way: the more weird things in the source, the more intense the explosion will be.
